Yeah, that report is very strong aint it. If he had no intention of joining us from day one, we wouldn't have been so advanced. Things might have changed, but I doubt its what theyre saying given weve just made an absolute splash in the market.
Think that is the point he is making. It was said but turned out to be bollocks so might be again!
As others have said would be surprised the club even bidding if he didn't want to join! I know its not how it should be done but clubs sound players out these days and have a package agreed before they really start bidding!
tbf it came out in the QnA that the deal had taken a month to finalise, plus Xhaka himself said, "it was a long time of waiting, but I'm hear now", that indicates that he's been waiting for the green light. I still think it's class that he only wanted to come here aswell.
Wonder if his club have anything to do with that

At the prices being talked about for that deal, I’m glad tbh. Can’t be paying that much for a kid with a year on his deal.

To be honest, none of these rumours/reports/responses mean a thing do they, if so they're fleeting.
It's all good fun but, in reality, the media are being manipulated much more than they're reporting 'found' information.
What's certain is that, when the window closes, everyone will know exactly where they stand ...
... then we can all get back to watching the football, meeting up and having a few beers.
Whatever happens I think we're in for a cracking season
