Of you’ve seen him in Greece then maybe has come on, that certainly wasn’t the impression when in Salernitana.

He was part of the team that had a mad great season and survived mind so he is certainly capable.
I always felt he showed it in Italy too, just a composure on the ball and ability to play it around - just not really the managers MO.

He can get the ball and give it to Elf no doubt, but Lucumi and Diakite are hitting long diagonals into space, Pirola certainly hasn’t got that.

He’s left sided, can defend, and a good age, so if fee is more like 10 then he’s worth a look.

He cost Olimpiacos 3m and has played 21 games. Nowt there to show a 7 fold increase

no idea mate. I just can't see us spending the 60m on two centre backs that some think we will. We absolutely might, of course, and I can see we can possibly afford it, I just don't think we will.
Yeah agreed. Plus there’s a difference between us being able to afford it for this season and our ability to also absorb the PSR hit next season. We don’t want to be forced to dismantle the squad next summer to get back under the limit.

I’d wager the plan is one player blows up this year and covers a vast amount of this years spend.

According to Phil Smith the other day, Ekwah has signed for St-Etienne. They activated their buy clause. Due to technicalities, it hasn't been announced yet. Rumours are he hasn't turned up to their or our camps as he wants them to sell him ASAP so he can play higher up

I think it'll be one high-quality CB for me and then maybe a loan or someone under 15m. I personally can't see Diakite and Lucumi, I think they are part of the one high calibre list myself

I heard Betis are interested from a pal in Spain.

Failing upwards indeed, but logic that they’ve just sold Cardozo to Atletico.

Think that Italian lad would be available for under £15m given what they paid last summer

How many weeks are left of the window? I hope we see our next incoming soon, still a good bit to do

Aye.

May well be a lazy link. He isn’t anywhere near the others we’ve been linked with. I’d say he is more a typical defender whereas all the links have pointed to players who can play out a bit.

Pirola never had the passing range when he was at Salernitana.

He went Greece for pennies though so I don’t see where they’ve come lucked 20mill from. Half that really unless he’s significantly improved.

Only age in his favour over Luc and Diakite, they are levels above him.

Maybe we rate him and think we can get him for a lot less than 20M, which compared with bringing Lucumi in, would save us enough money to be able to sign Diakite alongside him. It might also free up some extra cash for Xhaka.

Not ITK, just a theory.
