this is weird. Can’t be agent talk as he’s got three years left of a good contract at Leverkusen.
can only assume it’s true we’re still trying.

I think this is why homegrown lads inevitably move on to maximise their earnings. Ballard being from a prem club is irrelevant. He was never a prem player. Alese, Roberts, Cirkin also signed from prem clubs. Should they be on more than the team captain? He is not on a lit at the moment but why should he get more than Ballard. Ballard came from prem club
No idea, the only people that can answer that dont post on here that I know ofSo I’ll say no more because it isn’t gospel truth. I don’t think anyone can provide gospel truth.
Why hasn’t he signed?
Without a doubt mate
Not as slow as it once was in my view. I really enjoy Seria A and it is played at a really good intensity and pace. But they do value players who can keep possession.Italy very slow oaced. Would suit Neil to a T. Prem I fear he would not have enought time on the ball and we won’t have much possession
He only turned 18 a few weeks ago!Where will Rigg go that will give him that many prem minutes at 19
Its all speculation, we have no idea what hes been offered, how often they have spoke or anything. If they’d have offered him same 25k as Ballard, and he’s hung on, and is asking for say 40k now, that’s palatable.
He’s signed for 4 years at a rumoured 70k a year.
He has done his bit to support tha club financially for sure.

This is where those that know a little need to use some common sense when posting imo
First mis placed pass when he comes in tonight and.........Aye. And you’re bang on, can be damaging it’s shared then folk are on lads back.
He’s done nowt to suggest he isn’t committed to the club.
He’s been underpaid for years I agree with that. Because he wouldn’t sign a contract though. I hope it works itself out at the right price I really do. I wouldn’t want to be doing the negotiating. I’ve got nowt against Neil other than my doubts about his step up but he’s also got himself into this pickle, like Stewart did.If they’d have offered him same 25k as Ballard, and he’s hung on, and is asking for say 40k now, that’s not unreasonable.

Once we got beyond the first 24 hours following the initial link without a report coming out along the lines of "Granit Xhaka laughs in Sunderland's faces regarding potential transfer" I've been quietly confident that we were still pushing for this one. Had it really been dead in the water I think the club would have made it known via Phil Smith and co. Here's hoping Xhaka fancies it and we can pull this one off
I just read that as ‘bidding war please’. I don’t think we’ll do that. I think they’ll need to change their mind.Once we got beyond the first 24 hours following the initial link without a report coming out along the lines of "Granit Xhaka laughs in Sunderland's faces regarding potential transfer" I've been quietly confident that we were still pushing for this one. I think he will leave now if I am honest. If there was a deal to be done I think it would have been done by now. Sad as I am to say that.
I 100% believe Regis would pick him ahead of Sidiki in the first major friendly. That is based on ability, but it also based on Regis on field connection to the team. He was his captain last season, and they got promotion together. It was clear how much he relied on Neil on the pitch and how much he trusted him. I dont think any coach would throw that away without giving it a chance to succeed at the higher level. It isnt like Dan is some 33 year old going to the prem for the first time. He is still a relative youngster with his prime ahead of him and a growth mindset. Every season he has evolved his game to account for asks of him. Any top coach wants him around to go again next season. That is just coaching common sense. You need folk on the pitch who speak with your voice and that was Dan last season.
Wish I knew why the contract isnt what he wants. Something a bit sad about the whole thing tbh. The value to everyone concerned of having an academy player leading us out in the premier league is immense financially and reputationally. I think the club know that. Very odd and has taken the shine off the summer so far for me.
Well the lad who’s just reported it is major for German newsInter Milan are in for Xhaka so I’d suggest we stop dreaming on that one.
Who reported us and Fenerbahce or AC Milan? The reporte I read clearly got a steer from leverkusen.Well the lad who’s just reported it is major for German news
