Seems our signings aren’t just impressing us.

We’re throwing down a challenge: give us 5 bold predictions for the 2025-2026 season. Here are ours:

▫️ Sunderland will qualify for European competition
▫️ Lens in the top 5 of Ligue 1
▫️ PSG wins back-to-back Champions League
▫️ Algeria reaches the World Cup round of 16
▫️ Third star for France

Utterly insane. 12th place is basically getting to the moon for us even if we spend another 100m.

Hi Everyone. Most on this thread will know there’s a few of us here who like stats and data and scouting of footballers and often provide our tactical opinion on players linked or suggest players to look at.

we’ve decided to put together a page on x where we will be bumping heads to put data together and provide more info to the general Sunderland fan who wants to learn more or to those who maybe haven’t seen or heard of a player we’re linked with
. As well as just being a general Sunderland fan page

if anyone’s interested in taking a look the links are below.

Hey you almost make me want to rejoin twitter.

32 is a decent age for a keeper its when they are in their prime
I don’t believe Ederson will ever reach the performance levels of 2/3 seasons ago again, he was immense. City wouldn’t be letting him go if they believed this was his prime either

Spot on, I have concerns over Isidor. He has lightening pace and that will cause defences problems but his hold up and link up play wasn't of the quality needed last season.

I want someone who can bring others into play, I think Mayenda is getting good at this but be good to have another similar

Abdullahi I'm still unsure on but thats more now to the clubs plans - do we have money ti sign a striker as well as our other needs. I want him to go and play week in week out so I'm definitely leaning more towards getting him a good loan move to learn how to play week in week out
I only saw the highlights from the weekend and they may have played well (and it’s pre season of course) but Mayender and Abdullahi both missed chances we really need to be ruthless with. I think we have three good strikers who could be outstanding but we need one at a higher level for now.

Complete guesswork but Lammens being our GK target would make some sense as to it going "quiet" especially if Lammens is understandably waiting to see if Utd put their money where their mouths are.

Maybe at some point in the next week or two he concedes Utd won't happen and looks "lower down".

The way last season went for City its the first season he's had since signing for them that he's actually had to work so it probably does make him look like he's not as good as he used to be.
City pretty much had 75% possession in every game before last season.

I'll subscribe to this universe even if it does mean France win the world cup.

will we need two new keepers or just the one?

cant see us getting rid of Patto and Moore in the same winodw,

and will Moore getting the full 90 on Saturday, makes me think that Moore is more likely to stay than patto,

or that is my view.

Its an interesting perspective. I reckon Patto might get 90 mins tonight which might allay that position.

But if Patto doesn't want to be number 2, I can 100% see you being right that Moore stays as number 3 and a new number 2 comes in along with a new number 1. Especially as that would help us with PSR

They did each miss a relatively easy chance they are going to need to take if we are to have anything like a good season. I'm hoping they'll sharpen up.....it's what pre-season is about. I like the movement though....I'm not in favour of a big, conventional No 9 in this team....it's all about mobility and pace....crosses into the box are mostly going to be low,to someone coming on to them.

does seem odd that Moore was only one not to get subbed off against Sevilla. normally one keeper only gets the full 90 towards the end of the preseaon games.

and if we are after a new no1 then I think as patto has more of profit about him ( we will get 15m+ for him over moore) he would go over Moore,

the link to Rambo has calmed down, with saints having a friendly Wednesday morning be interesting to see if he is there or not. a couple more clubs are sniffing around him.
