We clearly want another winger so I wouldn’t worry. Journos have said we held talks with other targets and could revisit them nowIts fine everyone saying we have Mundle etc but 3 hamstring injuries in under a year is a massive concern
will be an asset but will he stay fit

Hmm shame. Hopefully he can light it up but I thought he looked a bit quiet and uncomfortable on that side but it was his first game I suppose.
him being confident with both feet should be good for that.
seen someone on twitter saying to send him back then swap him in the Lauriente deal earlier hahah
I know that’s why I said “it was just his first game I suppose” afterwardsSorry mate, but you're overthinking it massively. He's excelled on the right at Brugge. He's not uncomfortable there at all. He may be better on the left in the long term and that might be where he eventually ends up, but a slow debut in pre-season is all it was.
His club announced he had said his goodbyes yesterday and was leaving.
Thinks its fairly obvious his agents have moved the goalposts. His loss and we move on to other targets
I am quite excites to see how we go for as a loan option. Mind you, I doubt we get a good one only to play when Africa is on...Did someoen
especially on a 5 year contract for a hefty fee, I think we could/should use a loan spot for afcon cover
Just caught up with the highlights and recap from the game yesterday
Clear as day we still need a good few players to make up a good squad, pretty much the whole back line from the 2nd half need replacing, probably browne and aleksic too
I don’t even know why I added that afcon bit at the end for cover would have been fineI am quite excites to see how we go for as a loan option. Mind you, I doubt we get a good one only to play when Africa is on...
I don't get the whole argument about it being the agent. These things are a negotiation and if they're all in the room in Portugal with the player having said his goodbyes to Sassoulo, I don't see how his agent suddenly comes out with a demand that shuts the whole conversation down. The club wouldn't just pull out of the deal and no longer negotiate.
Unless player terms hadn't been discussed before they arrived in Portugal... or maybe he has another offer on the table.
So player wants the move, club wants the move, Sassoulo have agreed the fee, player has said goodbye to his team mates and then comes in with demands so ridiculous that it shuts down negotiations?
Given that Lauriente already has relationships with RLB and Le Feé, I think they already know his character.
This doesn't seem like a likely scenario to me.
I had no idea he had been bad mouthing his club. Sounds like we have dodged a bullet if that is the case.Yeah that's how it was eventually span. He's bad mouthed Sassoulo at every turn.
It was Yoga that helped him I think.Might just need a tweak to his lifestyle. Didn't Giggs have massive hamstring troubles for years which just cleared up as he hit his late 20s.
Went on to a decent career that lad.
Brother cuckolding aside.
Almost certainly. Right to get out of it.They you go. Agent skulduggery
I agree with the second bit but, even though it feels churlish to say so while the direction of travel is so positive, the club can certainly get it wrong when bringing in players. We’ve got recent history of chasing hard for the wrong players and even some of the more concrete links this summer have been a bit dumb. It’s impossible to have a 100% hit rate but every signing isn’t 4d chess. Sometimes they just **** up.The club clearly disagree though. Otherwise we wouldn't have been about to spend another 20m on Lauriente.
And we've not pulled out of that deal based on a quiet 45 minutes of Talbi at RW in a friendly.
