Wolfsburg have made a £21m bid for Norwich striker Josh Sargent.
It’s understood the clubs are close to an agreement and negotiations are ongoing around the structure of the deal.

My fave player ever is Julio Arca so as long as the foreign lads come in and get the club them I'm OK with them

Just prefer seeing British lads make up the core of the squad

Isidor and Mayenda are 2 great examples of foreign lads who just seem to get the club, think we got under Le Fees skin as well

Loftus Cheek didn’t play much last season and wouldn’t cost much I’d imagine, no idea what kind of money he’s on like.

16 players played 900+ minutes in all comps last season. Mepham, Jobe and Watson are already gone. Neil and Cirkin seemingly need to sign contracts or they'll be gone. Mundle looks like he could be going. Patterson, Roberts and Browne the club have either replaced or have been actively looking to.

I'm not exactly big on sentimentality but I do think cohesion is important.

But arrrgghhhhh, the club are blowing it!

In all seriousness only time will tell on who is right eh. It isnt even about being right or wrong, just about how we see football.

I fundamentally hate the idea of buying a side. It is everything that I feel is making football less than a sport and a thing of beauty. My love for international football grows at an exponential rate as a result. If we arent representing the region, or at least the country, I lose some of my joy. If we arent bring players from youth teams into first teams I lose even more of my joy in football. But that is just me.

If the team that walks out on day 1, does not have a clear link to the team that celebrated so clearly with us at Wembley, we will have lost a little bit of our soul, in my opinion. And I will find a little less joy in it.

Somebody did post on here weeks and weeks ago they’d heard Mundle was unsettled and fancied a move, I remember it being mentioned and we dismissed it.

Maybe just fancied being back down South.

I’ve made clear how much I rate Mundle and how I think he can develop, but if we turn a profit and have Adingra. Taibi and Lauriente all right footed we can’t be too upset.

Mundle is still a ‘will he won’t he’

I guess my question to those who'd like more English or British players would be who? I don't disagree with the idea but there's very few who are

A) good enough
B) attainable
C) good value
D) in a position of need

Very few meet that criteria. Cresswell is an obvious one but outside of that i'm struggling. Welbeck maybe? Not sure on the attainable aspect though.

I think our best bet for getting British lads into the team is to continue the academy pathway and continue to look at academy players at top end clubs as long term signings.

I see very few options for the short term.
