They could have "moved on" as a negotiation tactic of their own.
Less than 24 hours Xhaka wanted to move to Saudi and was waiting for his club to agree a fee.
The optimistic view twists that all into our favour.
But the alternative pessimistic view is that he was keen on moving to Saudi and pocketing the money, less than 24 hours ago.
I don't necesarilly think he'll go to NEOM.
I think now that its become public that his NEOM move has broken down but that he was keen on moving to Saudi, another Saudi club may come in.
Just think it's funny how it comes out that our owner is in talks with bayer and have even offered a 3 year deal and then just after NEOM move on due to 'setbacks' that reads more in a positive light for us.
Very similar to Neom stealing Bulka but the other way around imo
Actually... That might be the problem, language barrier is making it seem like ambitious line project not ambitious project line. No wonder they're moving to Neom.
The setbacks might be NEOM negotiating though, not Sunderland coming in.
I just worry about our chances of signing a player who had already agreed to go to Saudi for big money. If he signs for us I'll have no doubts about his motivations of course, but until he does, or until we have any indication he even wants a move to Sunderland, I'll remain concerned that he still wants his move to Saudi.
Can we just succeed with a deal pls haha, we need some agreement news for a change 
All the Saudis really have to offer is money but it is crazy money so any player is going to have to think very hard before turning it down especially at his age and having achieved so much. Could be he didn’t fancy other options at the time and thought it was the best offer he would get but the lure of the premier league is massive and we could still sell him to Saudi at 35. I feel KLD could be our ace in the hole

I'd settle for news on either Lucumi or Xhaka that they want the move to us. The agreement I'm confident will happen once that's in place!
