Yeah it does feel a lot like we are just gonna have massive CBs and a keeper to claim crosses and then try to outplay everyone.

I personally don't like the idea of ELF - Diarra and a 10 and think it was just to be more attacking vs a very very poor opponent in shields.

I think it would be odd for Le bris to specifically say Sadiki can play as a lone 6 if we weren't going to use one ever, so imo we will switch between a 433 with a 6 and a 4231 using a 10.

That seems the mostly likely to me aswell, with the set up changing between the two depending on opposition etc.

I don’t think we played a double pivot against shields

we defended in a 442 as normal with diarra where jobe would be and ELF Neil

then played on the counter

Can’t see us moving away from the game model / 442 press. One deeper midfielder, one box to box midfielder and the other box to box midfielder who joins the striker in the 442 press

El Khannouss is one of a very small list that i'd like from the Championship clubs. Real bright spot in a terrible team.

Nah we 100% had Diarra and le fee side by side. There wasn’t 1 sitter like we had with Neil last season at least from what I could see

I don’t agree. Time will tell I suppose, I think we kept playing on the break. Diarra played Jobes role and Browne played Riggs

we haven’t got a natural number 10 nor do we have 2 natural sitters so I’d be surprised if it was a double pivot. I don’t think RLB has ever played with a double pivot actually

I can’t say I ever once saw one clear sitter like we had with Neil countless times. Everytime I looked Diarra and le fee were next to each other

It is odd for RLB to say Sadiki can play as a lone 6 or a double pivot if we aren’t going to play both those systems, I think we will adapt to the team we’re playing anyway I doubt it will be set in stone

Would prefer to not be linked with players from relegated premier league teams personally. Feel coming from a struggling team after a long season at the bottom of the league losing frequently is a bad starting point when moving onto another team who could potentially be in the same boat if they start badly and would prefer players who haven’t already had a season drained of hope starting the new season for us. I want players who will run through brick walls and fight rather than players whose will to fight could already be jaded by previous battles in the premier league.

I remember West Ham going down with these players,
David James, Michael Carrick, Trevor Sinclair, Joe Cole, Jermain Defoe, Frédéric Kanouté, and Paolo Di Canio.
Those players did alright.
