I'm just gonna put it out there but there is a very small chance the club really want Hendo and are keeping it quiet in the same way they've done with Petrovic etc.
They even kept Adingra quiet by asking Keith not to report it.

More tap in than long shot. He’d be here now if we wanted him. It’s unlikely but I think long shot sounds like it would be difficult to do when it’s probably as easy a negotiation as we could possibly have.
Hendo wants to play for England. He needs game time to do that. Can we guarantee him that ? I don't think so
He's not good enough to start for any team in the Premiership nevermind the England squad. Its embarrassing that he still gets called up for it

Yeh I'm 99% sure we're not signing him but there's that 1% chance the club are just trying to control the narrative whilst he's making his mind up. Keith even does say that things can change.
