We were strong at defending set pieces last year, if I remember right from RTB's match threads. Could the GK coaching consensus be that it is better to stay on your line unless 99% certain that you can claim / punch the ball? Goals conceded per set play kind of thing, when the keeper comes off his line.
Yeah I think perhaps in the first year patto attempted to claim a lot of crosses but we were weaker at set pieces - perhaps him coming out a lot was the reason for this and the coaches have told him to stick to his line more. Definitely an interesting thought.

I reckon one loan will be CB so we can spend relatively big on the other CB. I think decent money will be spent at GK and CB. The other loan probably the striker and perhaps a couple of more modest signings in CM and RB, possibly frees.
We have Ballard ( injury prone) alese(very injury prone) onien. Defo need 2 quality center backs imo

Fascinating. As a general rule, do you share my scepticism about Eredivisie strikers or are Meerdink’s numbers just too good there?
I share your skepticism about eredevisie players in general, but watching meerdink i find it hard to deny what im seeing and it certainly looks transferable to the premier league.

Definitely the more risky signing though.

I think the concern is he hasn't develop year on year and last season was his worst one yet

His best season was arguably the 1st season we went up to the championship and hasn't really kicked on since
He certainly had a significant dip in form last season, personally I thought he came through it and finished the season pretty well.
