So the spend is in the £100m range (up front) so far. I'm thinking a gk, cb, st to all come in in the £10m-£20m range. Then some loans / cheaper deals to cover CB / RB / CM and possible another 'wide forward' Still work to do but not miles away now.
We’re only allowed two loans I expect the loans to be an extra versatile forward and extra midfielder with permanents to be ST GK CBx2 and CM
Big fan, I mentioned him last summer as a player we should be signing then he went there Not sure hes ready for the PL yet but a very talented player. Talks of him going to Italy
It's a risk I doubt we'll take. On Wilson though, he went through game after game without any of the kind of service he thrives on; balls played through on the deck in-between defenders, or balls into clear space behind them. Our midfield looked tired in the last third of the season which contributed to this, and shows why we really need the numbers there now. We didn't have that last season, which makes Regis' management of the play offs so good. If we play a bit more of that kind of football, he'll be a threat in the PL. Ditto his mate, neither are best suited to aerial stuff. I imagine we'll get another in, and then it will be about how well they each gell with the threat we might produce from wide and through the middle from Enzo and co. It's going to be different to watch!
That's @Scout73 I think, I don't mind him but he's got a ways to go before he's considered premier league ready imo.
I think the 2 starting line ups Saturday will tell us a lot both 2nd half’s I’d imagine will be the 21s but can’t see the likes of ekwah/matete/ba playing any part, strange how little training footage we’ve seen since they’ve been back
Tbf he's nippy and competes physically at just 20 - I wouldn't want to base a signing off his hot streak towards the end of the season when a lot of teams had downed tools but he's definitely a bright prospect. I think wolves have been eyeing him as a one for the future and some teams on the continent - but none of them to start now which is the difference.
Would need a massive improvement to be a Premier League keeper great shots stopper but has zero command of his area and is terrified of crosses and distribution is woeful at best
I was always a little more keen on Cvetkovic whenever I watched serbian young lads, who I think is in Belgium now? Should be an interesting season for him and one ill be watching closely
I remember when we first came up and this was pattos "cross stopping" data, weirdly that specific stat has gotten worse since. Although I don't think it's necessarily a very good metric for how good you are at claiming crosses.
Massive fan but don’t think he’d be ideal for us currently as we could probably do with someone more experienced
I reckon one loan will be CB so we can spend relatively big on the other CB. I think decent money will be spent at GK and CB. The other loan probably the striker and perhaps a couple of more modest signings in CM and RB, possibly frees.
We were strong at defending set pieces last year, if I remember right from RTB's match threads. Could the GK coaching consensus be that it is better to stay on your line unless 99% certain that you can claim / punch the ball? Goals conceded per set play kind of thing, when the keeper comes off his line.
Promise David, Franjo Ivanovic, Lucas Stassin, Matthis Abline. Any of them and i'm happy with our strikers
