£15m+ for a player in the final year of his contract and playing in Serie B last season is a lot of money imo and he’ll be 27 this year so in his best years more than likely but also won’t have the resale value Talbi could. Glad the club aren’t rushing into it and throwing whatever Sassuolo want at them.
Going back to this one, the lauriente deal is very price dependant for me. Squad balance, age, contract length all are dragging forces on the price in my view. Could be an opportunity for a real bargain if we stay resolute but also a potential for a misstep if we chase it. Maybe it becomes one that we let run till later in the window to ramp up the pressure.

When we were in League One or the Championship he said that he didn't report on us as we just aren't interesting to the national press.

Which I did genuinely personally kind of understand.

What I don't understand is why now that we're a Premier League club, we're not getting very regular updates from the likes of Sky and the Athletic, like all other premier clubs get. My only logical explanation is that the club are asking the press not to.

All other clubs have their own dedicated The Athletic journalist. We don't... the closest we have are Michael Walker and Phil Buckingham, and they've been radio silent on us for quite a while, not even reporting on our signings. Diarra's transfer was covered by the Athletic's Chelsea correspondent and Sadiki's by one of their "bank" journalists.

The reason is that they feel they cover the North East by having Downie in Sky's case, and the others doing similar. They all take the easy route and shill for the Saudis.

Not something that bothers me in the least. It is as clear as a bright day that they hear virtually nothing before certain internet characters, and I only hear from them on here!

let them focus elsewhere - we can be the wolf in the wilderness - the black panther prowling in the night - not seen, not heard, not considered, until the switch is flicked, fast, dark and lethal - til the end

Canids are ****ing loud in the wilderness, very broad range of language that carries long distances and very social creates who love a chat.

Can't say I know much about panthers, they're presumably quieter.

the reason for different medicals is because each will have their own way of looking for niggles,

its quite common for medicals to take part in stages.

most medicals these days are done in 2/3 sessions,

one for main fitness, muscles and tendors and then cardio,

hope this helps

So how does that work with late deadline day deals where they can’t be having multiple medicals in the short space of time?
