And this is how uncertain things can be.

A player might’ve just set their sights on the PL, or whatever, based on the slightest thing …

… it may be just because a countryman has signed or they watched Netflix.

Conversely they may have a wife who wants to pursue her own career, or their kids don’t want to learn English. Whatever the case we seem to have a club that’s looking after players and providing a good platform for them.

Bringing in players based primarily on money isn’t what we should be doing imo …

… and I don’t think we’re that kind of club anymore.
Couldn't agree more.

The whole "til the end" ethos is built upon characters within the team who will run through brick walls for their team mates right til the end - these types also buy in fully to the team, their team mates and the club.

Aside from talent (obviously), I think that good character is one of the most import traits that our recruitment team looks at these day. A player who is simply chasing money or is clearly ambivalent to the clubs ambitions in favour of their own is very unlikely to fit, in my opinion.

Sunderland begin talks for talented winger'

Sunderland have entered talks with Sassuolo for Armand Lauriente, according to French outlet L'Equipe.

The French winger scored 18 goals and added five assists across his 33 appearances in Serie B, helping Sassuolo back to the top-flight of Italian football in the process.

The player has entered the final year of his current contract at the club.

Ok this time I genuinely think he's not a Morocco international. But I'm ready to be wrong again.

You just know as soon as they play in the premier league El Aynoaoui and Talbi will get called up
Yeah.... But Ligue un isn't too shabby in fairness, Amrabat just hogs that spot.

Although I'm assuming El Aynaoui has just been injured whenever there's been games, bit of a sick note.
