But he could move to the premier after 3 seasons a very rich man, not sure on how much of a challenge he'll have faced though.

He’s a goalkeeper so you could probably argue his game wouldn’t be as stunted as an outfield player. Can’t blame him for going there but as @Smug in Boots pointed out earlier he’s going to be on mega money which no European club will offer him so unless he’s going to take a significant pay cut he’ll be seeing out his contract there. I’d be surprised if there’s even another goalkeeper in world football on £200k a week. Maybe Donarumma that’s probably it if any.

I must say, I'm very much que sera, sera and zen about things. I don't know if it's just mellowing with age or whether it's reflective of the fact I've so much faith in the club's hierarchy (and know we have a core of likeable, capable players already at the club) now that I feel I can just relax.

Having said that, I was a bit rattled by the Angelino link and fee that was being touted as it would have represented a departure and abandonment of what we've done well and what we (now) are.

As long as we remain a smart club and don't gamble any element of our long term sustainability in favour of short fixes then I'll remain satisfied and certainly won't be shedding any tears over the fact we've not got our first choice goalkeeper because we can't stretch to net wages of £10.5m a year.

Remember Peter Reid freezing out Magic Johnson who went back on signing a new contract before going on holiday he was out a year and he was never the same player or even close !

No he wasn't. Johnson's agent cost him a lot of money. He was offered £18k a week here, having been in £6k. I think it was for three years, enough to set you up for life really. These figures emerged from the club after noise from Johnson's agent.

He drifted around all over after that. Massive error

I'm assuming the Reinildo signing would have been great in your eyes (it is btw) much smater than signing Angelino

Definitely smarter. He's free, with no doubt a signing on fee as part of his wages. If he's been playing for Simione, he must be a tough character, so unless he has slipped off a cliff, he should be a smart signing

I'd like some closure on it from Fab. Even if its just words!! I want to see ambitious project and "moving on to other options" etc
