The guardian are still not the most reliable mate

I chose not to believe it because they’re not a massive source. They said we were going to groundshare with the mags ffs. Of course they’ll get things right

but I only strongly believe links from a few journalists

they didn’t say we were going to ground share with the mags. Louise Taylor suggested it was an option, that’s all. It was her own stupid opinion, not either club

Also worth pointing out Habib Diarra was first linked by the guardian and then first reported as seriously linked by Alan Nixon.

This idea that only the internet journalists are believable is just wrong. You have to listen to all sources and make your own mind up.

but let’s not dismiss national journalists because an internet guy with a phone hasn’t reported it yet.

oh absolutely. I’m just a bit aggrieved because people have been telling me how wrong I am for believing the guardian this morning after telling me how wrong I was for thinking that the agent might have leaked it initially to Romano.

we’ve all (understandably) got a bit carried away, me included. And if anything this is a reminder and wake up call that especially with elite players they’re not done until they’re done, even if somebody like Romano is making it sound positive.
I try not to read much into anything from the twitter folk, pretendy journalist or not. I believe so much of it is get clicks or whatever earns rep or money. An awful lot to will be careful ad placement by agents and clubs. It must be like shelling peas getting something into the line of sight of clubs etc. It is also fair to say I havent got a cluw about any social media stuff (thankfully, I cant imagine living my life like that). This is my only social media - does that count.

What I will say is I once got suckered by clubcall headline on teletext about some epic signing or other. 6 minutes of bollocks at premium rate and it was some rubbish I cant now remember. Best to enjoy the speculation but not believe too much imho. Unless Magnus comes along with some gem, then I open the malt.

One thing is, neom were loosely linked a while ago.

they’re also really heavily linked with Lyon’s goalkeeper.

it could possibly be agent talk to say they’ve agreed with Neom so we give him a higher contract because A) we were massive front runners B) player said he wanted to play at top level C) he was heavily interested in us

of course it might not be, but the fact we’re mentioned as still in the running for now, it is an option

Mind, despite the Diarra stuff being spot on I still reserve the right to declare everything else from Nixon as bollocks. ;)

I agree with what you’re saying though.

Not the end of the world with the keeper. I think Patto can do a job but I do think that as good as the recruitment team have been they are playing in the big boys league now and will be being played left right and centre by agents. What worked in the championship doesn’t always translate to the premier league and the sharks swimming in those waters.
A lesson learnt by letting it leak out before it was fully done if that’s what has happened.

I also see what you say but also think it’s very very very strange fabrizio has said nothing yet

it was his exclusive he even went and spoke to polish media about it.

I think it’s agent talk at the minute

I think Romano has previous for not reporting on “changes of plans” when he’s reported something as close and then it’s not happened. It’s almost like he pretends it never existed rather than “admitting” he was wrong or things have changed
