I like to think k I’m fairly balanced but I’m genuinely confused why Leeds fans seems to think they are a far bigger club than us. I’d say we’re similar albeit I’d argue we’re bigger.

It's a bit like Newcastle and the early Premier League era. Leeds made Champions League semi final in 2000 so most of the fan base in their 30's and 40's grew up with that "success".

The Premier League era still seems to be the cut off for relevant history.

Us and Leeds are very closely matched imo. They should be bigger given the size of the city and I think if you asked most neutrals, they'd probably say Leeds are bigger.

personally I’d say Leeds are bigger but it’s closer than they think it is

“bigness” is a completely irrelevant subjective thing though
I guess it depends on what Matrix you want to measure.... If its Trophies over the years, then its Sunderland, If its crowd size, then its Sunderland, If its how long each team has been in the Top league...then its Sunderland,
I'm sure Leeds are bigger than us at Something....its just not football

@SkySports_Keith
Expect a few more in the door like this for Sunderland this summer.
️ Talks taking place over multiple players, with the spine of the team set to be improved to compete on Premier League level.
[HASHTAG]#SAFC[/HASHTAG] planning to have a go in a bid to stay up, but if they do go back down they are still very strong.
Goalkeeper Bulka close to a switch, plus high-level centre back, another centre midfielder and striker amongst priorities..
hes taken that directly from these message boards about the spine of the team. Bit of plagiarism by Keefy imo.

Wondering what’s going on with Lauriente, been zero updates at all since we were told we were in talks

Be nice if Bulka gets sorted soon, it’s supposed to be quite close so surely we can get a confirmation form Fab since it’s his story soon

I reckon Lauriente is imminent.

I wager Diarra has only come out due to the medical being in France, we know Lauriente was in UK last week then straight off to Paris.

What odds 3 signings and 3 kits Tuesday, with the 3rd kit to come when we sign another in couple weeks.

It is a little funny medical was done in Paris, I know our staff will still be on holiday and we’ll have hired people to do it. But Lauriente is also in Paris

Likely just easiest place to get a premium medical centre. Lauriente family is Paris based so he’s having a summer with his pals and family I think.

That and they are blatantly signing together like.

Those neutrals might do, but it's not based on much, other than them being one club in a bigger city, a city which was also once a Rugby League stronghold, and actually to some extent still is. They lack the wider hinterland that we, as a more "regional" club will always benefit from. They also spent twenty years outside the PL, including three or four seasons in League One. I think they own their stadium again, after having to buy it back, but do not own their training ground after having to sell that off in the past too.

They've done well in the last few years, and are back where they believe they belong. But there are maybe thirty or so clubs who reasonably believe that. Their "big" name is a result of lazy assumptions made by journalists and ill informed pundits, both of whom reach for easy cliches rather than do any thinking. Leeds really, are not all that.

And the dirty bassas broke Bobby Kerr's leg.
