Diarra for £26.5m as the initial fee, you’d assume the additional that rises is to £30m will be if we stay up.

so worst case scenario and we go down. He’s extremely unlikely to have had such a bad season that we don’t recoup MOST of that. And that’s worst case.

one decent season as a highly rated 22 year old could see us getting bids of £50m+ for him next summer.

this feels like a huge outlay and maybe im just wearing an optimistic hat today but I can’t see how we don’t make our money back, serious injuries permitting
Relegation clauses should help too

For any of the lads who watch their European footy, potential aside, as of right now do you think Diarra is an upgrade on jobe?

think we might have even more then that to play with , all the talk about amad being out of reach at the start of the window now brings the question in to play .If man u wanted to sell now, we might actually have the pulling power that fans thought we didn't to pull it off
This is all I've been thinking since hearing this news and potentially signing Guendouzi...

Few people saying they want RW links as we haven't had any yet. Well, maybe we have the RW deal in place and we're just waiting for Man Utd to seal Mbeumo...

Ah it's nice to dream what seems an almost realistic dream now.

From the end of the northern echo’s article about Diarra

Sunderland are also closing in on a deal for Polish international goalkeeper Marcin Bulka.

The club have held talks with Nice over the shot-stopper, who is understood to have expressed a desire to move to Wearside and test himself in the Premier League.

Nice's former sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, is set to join Sunderland's executive team in a senior role alongside Speakman.

Has someone found the batteries for the magic carpet?

Despite my seeming reticence at times, Diarra is quite a coup. Feela very much like a signing where top 4 level clubs happy for us to takr him, give him 2 years, and scoop him up for double when they are happy he is prem proven. Him and the keeper would be great starts. Need to get a wriggle on though, Ndong still our second biggest tfr to date...

Re Gendouzi people will laugh. I am not 100% on him. Not a bad player at all, just not all I think he could be. Defensively he can be got at and isnt some form of defensive master. I dont take well to players that seem to find trouble in an empty phone box either. Maybe I will love his scrappy do attitude when he is the red and white. There are better options in Italy than him imo, should we want another CM.

Whoever they sign is fair play though, they seem to have this summer very well planned ahead of time. Getting deals done before pre season is really important imo.

Now, u21 final anyone? Haway England, time to shine brightly again. Harvey to bag a hatrick and in his interview announce he is now a Mackem.
ELF will be biggest signing now mate.

It’s been assumed but this is the first thing I’ve seen that says Bulka wants the move. Cracking.
