Just read a quote from Strasbourg saying they promised to let him leave in JUNE 2025. Not sure if they just meant the summer window or if it was FFP related

You would hope it's structured in a way that greatly suits us, he's very very nice to watch but don't think he brings enough fire power and I don't really like him defensively in a 3.

He does however have so much room to grow and I expect him to be much better than he was last year.
That’s why I think he’s our Rigg

plays as second striker in defensive structure and has the quality to help us on the break with the way he carries the ball under pressure

certainly takes weight of riggy and lets him develop

But that's why I'm a bit skeptical, he'd be the more advanced of the 3 and isn't really a goalscorer at all, in fact he's quite poor at it based on the last season. I just think there's better players in that price bracket for the right now but appreciate Diarra brings us talent that will grow over the next 3/4 years.

Our 6-0 loss to Bolton in League One was just over 3 years ago.

Now we're signing the best keeper in the top 5 leagues and bidding £35m for a player Atletico Madrid want.

Forget taking Nixon with a pinch of salt. This is a pinch me moment.

Unless RLB believes he can use his energy in that CM role (jobes role)

Jobe was poor defensively the season before last but really kicked on in this area under RLB

I looked online and it says 'premier league clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time'

Can loan 4 players in a season but only 2 at 1 time by the sound of it

International loans are still limited to 6 if I remember right? Although obviously no one is getting that many in.

No idea, I just looked on the PL page about loans and that was what it said

It's not clear if iys all loans or just from other PL teams

He did outperform his xG

but if he works on finishing he’d be great

"Lined up for a medical on Wearside" sounds strangely overly specific in terms of confidence doesn't it? I mean its a needless addition to the story from nixon.

It has to be true. Doesn't it? Am I just getting carried away? Honestly this is insane.

This is true however Jobe wasn't in the 1st percentile for tackles made and didn't look as lightweight in duels as diarra did for me.

I'm up for the signing but 20-25 would be more comfortable imo, it's a LOT of money for someone who doesn't add goals to our midfield and might not cope with the premier league.

My search said different! It said two domestic loans, maximum of six in total but perhaps that’s fifa rules not premier league.

I guess its that old saying "speculate to accumulate".

We won't be able to get him without overpaying slightly probably. So perhaps we take a risk on overpaying for him knowing that he's of the rare talent that could be a £100m Chelsea signing in 2 years.

Yep I get that but sometimes things just click with a young player. The upside is there with this lad, and with the right coaching he could become a beast

Be interesting if he does sign and how we use him

There's nothing here I disagree with tbh, I just would rather a slightly different profile, I appreciate him as a player but am still in the mindset of someone more 24-26.

This is what I mean, he is never ever this specific

I hope Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Leeds agree with you and we win the prize for taking the punt!
