I know the consensus was that championship signings don't provide the value - but what about Tom Fellows from West Brom? Would give us something different on the right as a rare right footed winger who whips crosses in from the right rather than cuts inside.
I think it'll be interesting to see what profile we go for with wide forwards. I'd kinda like to see us go for three goal threats with pace. Inside forwards rather than wingers. I still wonder (maybe even hope) that we change the way we set up for next season. A more functional, orthodox central three with a front three who all score goals and run powerfully. Sit deeper, stay more compact and then break at searing pace.

That being said, Fellows was a standout player at the level last season. Assume he'd cost a lot - although WBA lose their parachute money this summer so may be looking for an opportunity to balance the books.

did see a mag say that if they sell for 120m or whatever, its approx 60m profit on what they paid and by PSR rules allows them to spend 300m spread over 5 years

it might be the answer to their psr problems, as no matter what you think of them, their spending for the most part hasnt remotely been like city in the hughes days

Not for want of doing so. And the Saudis front loaded very heavily early on.

are they relying on making 60m profit on a sale every year in the next 5 years?

It hasn’t been allowed to be, that’s why. Also helps when the majority of their signings have worked out like. Some quality recruitment been done there

yes but allegiances aside this PSR nonsense is not about sustainable ownership, its targeted as a level playing field and protecting clubs from failure, but firstly newcastle arent ever going to be in financial peril and secondly we all know PSR is the proverbial drawbridge to protect the traditional top 4.
