Yeh I think, from Jordan Henderson's perspective, he'd be thinking if he joins us he gets guaranteed premier league football for one final season, rather than seeing it as a chance to "give back" to Sunderland.
I personally think he would love to help us and with him being a mackem that would give the extra drive to work hard and push himself to the limit. He might see it as a way of doing his bit to keep us up before he retires

This perfectly demonstrates the limitation of highlight videos. highlight videos are going to show him on the ball. They're not going to show him shirking tackles or running around slowly, or not pressing.

Ekwah LOOKS like a brilliant player, has a brilliant build, and on the ball he is very very good. He also has a great name.

On paper he also looks like he was too good for the championship last year so we had to loan him to ligue 1. To an outsider he could be seen as too good for Sunderland. They don't know the context that we didn't want him.

All of that combined can easily make people think he's a world beater purely from highlight videos and wikipedia
The more hype around Ekwah, the better tbf. Could end up netting a great deal for us.

Agree with this....he might.

Can you imagine seeing some of these players Liverpool have at the SOL next season. God the PL is such a jump in quality. Just shows how good we need to be with recruitment. Hume and Cirkin going from defending against the likes of Wright and Sakamoto to Barcola and Salah

Have Barcola or Salah come up against Trai Hume.

I think Ekwah is one of the rare players we have who while out of sight (injured or away on loan) has gotten worse in everyones mind. I'm not sure he deserves the level of criticism he's getting but at the same time I'm not convinced he's the answer. That season under TM and MB he was playing as the holding player and that is not his game. He suits Jobe's left sided 8 role more. So in that sense he's worrth a look. He's definitely got ability and he might get a chance to prove a point in pre-season but the club will no doubt have all the data from his loan and will have already made their decision.

Although he has exclusively played as the deepest midfielder or a centre half over in france

Okay I wasn't going to get in with the Ekwah slander but I just saw a Man Utd fan suggest they could sell Bruno and replace him with Ekwah to focus the money on other areas of the pitch. Nearly spit out my drink
That is hilarious no matter how much I love him I’d never go that far

anyone have a beach ball?

I find that mad to be honest. He didn't look comfortable or happy there at all for us. Is it part of the reason they struggled? Although all this online hype about him suggests he did alright (I have no idea).
I think hes largely had a similar season as he did for us, really inconsistent but his good games were very good - perhaps those good games looked even better as he had a bit more time on the ball.

I dont think hes mobile enough to play the same role as jobe but his skillset would suit it, if he could sort out his concentration and consistency hed be good as a deep midfielder imo. I also think this season has shown the difference in winning duels in france - he is in the top 1% for aerial duels won this season and top 15% for tackle success (he just doesnt attempt many). Hes gone from middle of the road championship success rate in the air to one of the best for his position, maybe just cant cope with england.

Think a lot of the good data he has is being looked at wrong by people who haven't watched. Like he has good ball progression but a lot of it is coming when 2-0 down so he has even more space from his deep area.

apparently we want at least another 3-5 ib before the pre season tour starts, things are close just waitng for the window to open proper again on Monday,

things will be shifting then
Wonderful, I go away on Tuesday so expect them all to sign while I’m in the air :emoticon-0102-bigsm
