Would anybody be against signing Ashley Young in a short term deal? Just to give some experienced cover for Cirkin?

He’s 40 next month. I love his versatility and he brings a wealth of experience which I feel we’re desperate for but it would have to be on small terms. Impressive that he featured in 32 PL games last season mind

For premier league experience with good values I think we go for Welbeck and Henderson.
Welbeck would be a quality signing but he’s just scored 10 goals and got 4 assists in 30 PL appearances (a load of those off the bench or less than 90 minutes). He isn’t joining a side battling relegation.

I can't think why, but I can't help thinking about David Moyes and his 'already doomed' negativity/relegation battle announcement <doh> . . . . that's the right attitude :emoticon-0105-wink:

What a ginger dour bastard he was for us, he helped to relegate us, he should have been sacked on the spot, but then mentioning slapping a female reporter, looking back it was obvious the big Texan had lost interest

Just for the people who have been asking

Why are there two transfer windows?

The summer has been split into two windows, with the first having opened on Sunday 1st June and the second window will open on Monday 16th June before closing on Monday 1st September at 19:00 BST.

The early window has allowed teams participating in the Club World Cup the chance to sign players before the tournament begins on Sunday 15th June.

Manchester City and Chelsea are the two Premier League clubs competing at the Club World Cup, but any team can participate in the early window.

Fifa rules state that a transfer window cannot last more than 16 weeks in a calendar year, hence the split this summer.

On that basis no one will.

... makes you wonder what Enzo was thinking.

Welbeck, at 34yo, won't be going to a club higher than Brighton and any of the bottom half could be 'battling relegation'.

He won't be going to Man Utd or Spurs so that leaves three or four possibilities.

He's never shown any interest in playing abroad so that's probably out ...

... perhaps he'll go to Birmingham and pass Sunderland on his way back up <laugh>
