That Xl would be a shoe in for the lowest ever PL points tally. I think we’ll see at least 5 new first team players come in plus a couple others. Pretty much agree with who you’ve highlighted but I’d like better than Patterson too
Makes sense with the reports of us targeting 4-5 players to strengthen the spine.

Hope you’ve got your tin hat ready mate but you’re absolutely bang on.

It’s bulletproof these days :emoticon-0102-bigsm I just look at the team Southampton had in the PL and it’s not worse than ours currently. But obviously a big window ahead, as it is for Leeds and Burnley too. All 3 will have a hard job staying up even with some serious money spent, that’s how tough the PL is now. Teams lingering around 13-16th with £30-40m players all over the park

Hope the Abline link isn't agent talk. Really talented, versatile and can do a lot of different roles well. Played in all 3 positions in a front 3 and played in a front 2. I like him best dropping from the front line and carrying the ball forward and arriving late for crosses. Very competent with his back to goal and in the air despite his stature.

The thought of Rigg getting better excites me mind. Always believed he was our biggest asset long term, even with Jobe improving
His technical ability is better than Jobe. Jobe has more physicality. I do expect Rigg to be the better player. Technique always rises to the top. He also has this unreal attitude which elite players have. I dont think he will be overawed in any way by the premier league, or players we will bring in. I think he will see himself as first choice midfielder and if Regis doesnt he will go all out to prove him wrong. He is the player I will be most excited to watch next season.

With Mepham back at Bournemouth and Jobe away to Dortmund, what’s our current best side? I’d say…

Patterson
Hume - Ballard - O’Nien - Cirkin
Rigg - Neil - Le Fee
Roberts - Mayenda - Mundle

- Shows how much work there is to do in the transfer window. I’d want upgrades for those in bold and wouldn’t twist if we were targeting better than Patterson and Cirkin either.
Pretty much agree. Would be more than fine with giving Mundle the starting role but he needs backup, same with the fullbacks i'm happy with them but there's currently zero depth and that's what would hurt us the most over a season.

Some one who can play in all three forward positions is something we were after in January so I think it makes sense we are revisiting him now we have a bit more cash and still need to fill that role in the squad.

Yeah we know RLB likes a small squad so having players able to play numerous positions will be key

As for the strikers linked and rumoured they all have their pros and cons and really good highlights reels, I am happy as long as King Reggy is happy with them

If they get him and Mbeumo, will be interesting to see if Amad is in their preferred first 11 (not suggesting we can sign him btw) just curious if he will lose his place at least initially.

Good point mate

Mbuemo and Gyokeres signing for Man U without any European football would prove they’re still a massive pull.

I don't see where he would play. They will have effectively signed a whole new first choice front three for Amorims 343. He's played Amad as the wingback a few times but he can't seriously see that as his role unless they are chasing a game.

I think Amorim would use Amad as a RWB and play Mbuemo/Cunha behind Gyokores. No idea what that means for Fernandes though, he’d have drop back into the one of the CM roles with Casemiro/Ugarte next to him

I just want to forget about him tbh. If he moves on then it’ll be a European club, not relegation battling Sunderland

I was very confident Jobe would be massively improved after his first season with. I feel the same way about Rigg, with maybe even more growth. You can see the young lads who dont shirk when they arent playing how they would like. As they physically adapt to a league season, their mentality is already waiting for the body to catch up. I think we will see lads like Rigg demand a place in the team simply through training ground attitude. Try and get the shirt off him, will need to a serious signing to do that if he is good as I think he will be next season.

I have no doubts about Rigg at all, I just hope we get him signed soon to a proper adult contract.

Players almost always improve at his age, often hugely and often quickly. Most are nowhere near a first team before they are eighteen, never mind having racked up dozens of starts. He has tons of talent, a great attitude, is an obviously strong character and has that vision that few players ever have.

Just get the lad signed up, he is going to be a very big player.
