Why are you saying sorry to me? I don’t want that. I haven’t seen anybody in here want it. You’ve dreamt it as you say.

4-5 new players is the consensus.

sorry that I’m being defensive but the vibe in here has been great, constructive and positive so to have somebody come in criticising the conversation doesn’t sit well with me.

Enjoying reading the discussion on here over the last few days, it's very good. Detailed with some great football knowledge of the wider player recruitment side of things. Adds something that I haven't seen on social media. It's really shown the forum in a positive light and gives it a unique edge IMO.

I can't see anything other than a massive workload for KS and his colleagues in player dealing over the next 2 months. I think we'll be wanting to move a dozen or so players on,most of whom have contracts which go beyond June 26....so it's affordable sales or loans. In addition, there are several players whose contracts need to be sorted...Neil and Cirkin among them....and PL status will move the goal posts with them. At the same time, most of us reckon we'll need 6 or 7 quality additions before the squad looks anything like capable of holding its' own next season.
Over the last 4 years I've developed a real confidence in how the club is being run....it's going to be really interesting to see how it develops....interesting and frantic! :emoticon-0103-cool:

I know they are both relatively young but they are adults. I find it a bit weird how much control the parents have over them

This for me. I said ages ago aye and what like he isn't 15-16 anymore he is a grown man, when people were saying his parents want him to go here and not there and don't want him playing in premier league.

All they can do is influence him and it's down to Jobe how strong he let's that influence be, if he would rather stay here strongly enough then he wouldn't let his Dad, Jude or anyone else persuade him. Reality is Dormund would be a step up and great opportunity for him, just hope the club stick to their guns on the fee! Which given our history can't see them letting him go cheap!

I take it we are no furhter forward with the whole Jobe saga
playes in? more concrete evidence or just wishful thinking?

People are getting very involved in the detailed specifics of the Jobe situation when the reality is we'll never know.

There's no point in getting hung up on it. We all knew the deal with Jobe when he signed - that was the whole reason he signed for us.

The move has worked as well as either of us might have hoped, we've enjoyed it a lot along the way and now he moves on for whatever fee the club decides to accept. If that's £25m or £40m doesn't change my perception that we did well out of Jobe and he did well for us.

I hope he goes on to have a hell of a career and I get to support him when he pulls on an England shirt in the future.

I think one thing the Bellingham party were quite ready for in the deal was the impact this club and fanbase could have on a player of you went out and gave your all everywhere and was an excellent player!

Add to that all evidence suggest the culture at the club is more positive and close than it has ever been and for a young player to leave that when said club has just been promoted to the next step of the football ladder so technically he doesn't have to move to challenge himself anymore is going to be a difficult decision.

Whatever the lad does I doubt he will find the decision easy and that is a massive, massive positive for this club and what it does now!

Can anyone remember how many times we couldn't give players away! We paid for a fair few to **** off!

I'm not even going to judge them on building a squad to stay up this season. For me it's about having a squad capable of coming straight back up if we fail.

They'll try for a squad to cover both objectives,I think. That's where the hard work will come... to ensure we don't make the mistakes of the past.
