Think we can look at Speakmans own precedent as well. We brought in 8 players after promotion to the Championship (a notoriously smaller gap than Championship to PL) along with making Clarke and Dajaku permanent and then another 4 in the January. We then had a great first year in the Championship and brought in 11 players in the 23/24 summer and another 3 in the January.

I like the majority of players we have now but there's very little room for sentiment in football.
It’s the unfamiliarity of not wanting us to bin players and having attachments with these current lads. Seen it with gooch and will probably in the future with the likes of Roberts (sorry bad example for you mate :emoticon-0105-wink:) and onien.

It’s football and it’s a brutal industry but the club has to keep moving forward. It will mean things are moving in the right direction when we’re sad to say bye to some lads.

Don’t think we’ll see much if it this summer mind, but definitely on the horizon if we manage to stay up.

Yeah I 100% get it. Stark contrast to the early L1 days where I honestly wouldn't have cared if everyone just got released

Obviously we've got the likes of Aleksic, Seelt, Triantis and more who could really impress RLB in pre season. It's not uncommon that players go from barely playing in a promotion season but play a big part in the league above. I know he's young but Tyler Dibling barely played last season for Southampton but was their best player in the PL. Maybe we have a youngster that does the same.

People are getting very involved in the detailed specifics of the Jobe situation when the reality is we'll never know.

There's no point in getting hung up on it. We all knew the deal with Jobe when he signed - that was the whole reason he signed for us.

The move has worked as well as either of us might have hoped, we've enjoyed it a lot along the way and now he moves on for whatever fee the club decides to accept. If that's £25m or £40m doesn't change my perception that we did well out of Jobe and he did well for us.

I hope he goes on to have a hell of a career and I get to support him when he pulls on an England shirt in the future.

Hope it's soon, I've got money on him getting in the World Cup squad:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Not overly keen on Tanganga. Said it a lot recently but at that fee I understand it to help build the squad but he's another that can't be starting a lot of games. Has the physicality we need but he relies a lot on that to get him out of situations his poor positioning and awareness has put him in and I think PL forwards would exploit that.
One for the future, probably low cost with mega profit potential

Correct

Take it with a pinch of salt

the French are very passionate and reactionary

if someone leaves they’re the worst player ever
Lorient fans weren’t complimentary about Regis either, mind they had just got relegated :emoticon-0102-bigsm
