It’s great that even with the signings that haven’t worked out, we will probably make an overall profit on them. We’ve come a long way since the old PL days and the money wasted back then.

Absolutely. We’re still making a profit or at worst breaking even on almost every player. No massive fee’s that have been wasted. Overall we will make money.

It’s credit to both the strategy of buying young, therefore protecting the value, the recruitment and scouting and the negotiation we’ve achieved. Ekwah is a prime example. He won’t go for the fee we once thought was possible but we’ll still make a decent profit due to the deal we signed him on.

£2m - £3m for Ekwah maybe, £1m - £2m for Aouchiche? Every little helps. Doubt we get anything for Ba like, if someone is daft enough to offer half a million snap their hands off!

Imagine this:

£900,000 Ekwah to Metz

£700,000 Aouchiche to Al-Ettifaq

£350,000 Ba to Le Havre

We could reject those offers like and keep them for next season. :afro:

To be fair I think we’ll see a decent fee for Ekwah, I wouldn’t even mind him having pre season here to see if he’s improved much. The other two are young enough to improve and go on for bigger fees eventually so if we get decent sell-on clauses. Basically do what the likes of Spurs/West Ham done to us when we signed Clarke/Ekwah etc. Low fee higher sell on.

Only Ekwah worth any money and it will be around 5 million, the other 2 I would let go for nothing, never understood how some people rated Ba, dreadful player

As much as I think he's a superstar in the making, surely that's a way off. It's a hard squad to get into.

Imagine Sunderland being, not far off, solely responsible for developing a Spain player.
Most definitely but...if they fancy him now, and he starts next season with a bang, let's say he gets 10 goals before Christmas....there will be interest i think.

Only watched Ekwah like 10 times while he was over in France but he appeared quite good in every game in an overall poor side in their top division. £5-7m wouldn't be exactly surprising.

Yeah I watched a couple of games and he was definitely one of the stand out players.

Apologies if this has already been talked about as haven't been on the page in awhile.

Prices are my opinion not necessarily accurate. All before we've made any new signings, so based on how it stands. So my opinion could change based on incomings, possibly adding other players to the list or keeping some listed. Is there anyone I've missed who realistically you think the club should sell or loan out?

Sell
Ekwah (£6M)
Poveda (<£3M)
Watson (£10M)
Pembele (£5M)
Aouchiche (£5M)
Ba (£5M) or loan
Joe Anderson (<£1M)
Rusyn (£2M)
Matete (<£1M)
Luis semedo (<£1M) or loan (couldn't remember if permanently bought already by Juve)

Total - <£39M

Loan
Aleksic
Huggins (assess at pre season depends how bounces back from injury)
Abdullahi
Seelt
Triantis (assess at pre season excellent in SPL this season can he step up?) Would be reluctant to sell unless funds needed.
Jones (if not wanting to be filtered back into the under 21's)

Watson - £10m
Ekwah, Aouichiche, Ba - £10m combined
The rest will be nominal fees or giving them away.

Triantis, Seelt and Huggins are all borderline imo. All worth a chance but wouldn't be against selling if they don't look like they can be a part of this squad. We need to create room for signings and youth.

If nobody gets near that, what do we do with him?

He might look class in pre-season and I'm sure RLB will want to take a look at all the players who are returning, we need to remember how far down the pecking order the likes of Mayenda was and the massive sudden improvement.

These are young lads so I doubt we will be writing any of them off just yet unless its blatantly obvious they haven't improved at all while out on loan.

Can't see it being that much like!
