Insane. Surely that have a player who can play for the club world cup and just not spent the 10m for a month worth !
Absolutely. We’re still making a profit or at worst breaking even on almost every player. No massive fee’s that have been wasted. Overall we will make money. It’s credit to both the strategy of buying young, therefore protecting the value, the recruitment and scouting and the negotiation we’ve achieved. Ekwah is a prime example. He won’t go for the fee we once thought was possible but we’ll still make a decent profit due to the deal we signed him on.
Imagine this: £900,000 Ekwah to Metz £700,000 Aouchiche to Al-Ettifaq £350,000 Ba to Le Havre We could reject those offers like and keep them for next season.
To be fair I think we’ll see a decent fee for Ekwah, I wouldn’t even mind him having pre season here to see if he’s improved much. The other two are young enough to improve and go on for bigger fees eventually so if we get decent sell-on clauses. Basically do what the likes of Spurs/West Ham done to us when we signed Clarke/Ekwah etc. Low fee higher sell on.
Only Ekwah worth any money and it will be around 5 million, the other 2 I would let go for nothing, never understood how some people rated Ba, dreadful player
Most definitely but...if they fancy him now, and he starts next season with a bang, let's say he gets 10 goals before Christmas....there will be interest i think.
Watson - £10m Ekwah, Aouichiche, Ba - £10m combined The rest will be nominal fees or giving them away. Triantis, Seelt and Huggins are all borderline imo. All worth a chance but wouldn't be against selling if they don't look like they can be a part of this squad. We need to create room for signings and youth.
He might look class in pre-season and I'm sure RLB will want to take a look at all the players who are returning, we need to remember how far down the pecking order the likes of Mayenda was and the massive sudden improvement. These are young lads so I doubt we will be writing any of them off just yet unless its blatantly obvious they haven't improved at all while out on loan.
