Yeah but remember we’re currently playing Neil as the 6.. he’s hardly a world beater himself, will likely never play for England never mind still be getting called up at the age of Hendo and our midfield got absolutely ran off the field by teams as bad as Plymouth last season.

can’t see him not being useful as a squad player.
Just think you'd want better than both really.

Completely different in PL.

Plymouth battle and kick teams off park, you don’t get that in PL.

Dans ball carrying and composure may well be absolutely tailor made for the PL.

Seriously mate watch any Ajax game. His numbers are high because he gets 100 touches a game and his passing is still good, but off the ball he's absolutely horrific.
This is the key part but the Saudi thing still leaves a proper bitter taste for me. Doesn’t fit what we are trying to do here with our strategy and doesn’t fit the way we are trying to play. Leave him in the past for me.

I'd rather persist with Neil next season than go anywhere near Henderson. If we want to bring in a holding midfielder there's 100's better than Henderson.

If we could bring back Jack Clarke for £12m (£3m profit), would that be worthwhile?
Not for me. Really poor season for him. Mundle has a big step up to make but he has one thing Clarke doesn’t and that’s truly electric pace.

Hope Clarke does well and gets back up but it’s currently looking like his ceiling is bottom prem at very best and he’s getting to his mid 20s now.

Club did everything right with him, signed him at the right time, sold him at the right time and he contributed massively for us. Another id leave in the past though.

Really hard to argue this when we overlook sentiment.

Love Jacky though and he’d thrive again here.

I agree with most of what everyone is saying but for the starting CM roles I'd personally only be looking at bringing in 1 and that's the CDM position. Been some excellent suggestions on here for some quality young lads that wouldn't cost a fortune.

As for the other 2 positions, ELF picks himself and I'd be more than happy to see Neil and Rigg rotate in and out as necessary. I really don't want to see Rigg take a back seat as he obviously has the potential to be our next big star given time and he could easily make the Jobe leap next season. And Neil playing a bit further forward, when on form with his passing range too could be great.

Just my 2 pence worth. Middle of the park won't take much IMO.

Bringing Defoe back should have taught us enough about sentimental returns. I’d have Amad though, he can actually offer us something. Henderson - we don’t look for players at the end of their career any more and really can’t see he’d be much use. Clarke - decent but a bit of a one trick pony - prefer Mundle there but some back-up is needed which isn’t moving Le Fee.
