Being a fan is about hopes and dreams for your club. Whether that's a promotion, a trophy, European football, surviving relegation, winning a playoff final at Wembley and more.

You take that away and it becomes nothing. I watch pre season games but there's no excitement, no drama, no big moments that change the course of your club for the next 5+ years. That's what not wanting promotion is, nothing.
I don’t think anyone on here has said they don’t want promotion.

So you admit you go every week to watch

You go to watch your team try to be the best they can be, rough and the smooth if we go up yes it will be a slog absolutely but the release of managing to stop up makes it all worth while and if if doesn’t come off you rebuild and go again

You make that sound like a pleasure mate, well done.

Any chance we could go back to this being a transfer window thread instead of one with people arguing the same unrelated nonsense over and over again?

I swear this forums just become the same different arguments between the same people no matter what the subject is. (I’m including myself in this as I contribute)

Aye can’t see us moving for him on a perm, was really excited by his signing too, goes to show even the experienced good on paper signings can flop

it’s also that he’s now being linked with a danish side I’ve never heard of let alone can I spell. It’s like he’s not just flopped here, he’s just not that good.

There's definitely a right and wrong in this. What is the point in staying down? And don't say winning games because what on earth is the point in winning games that mean nothing?

Some people might not want our club to be promoted so as not help, prop up, legitimize and endorse a league full of teams who are owned by fixers, cheaters, dictators, gangsters and killers.

Had some funny cameos mind launching the ball out of play as hard as he can at boro I think and trying to fight all of Swansea made me laugh, not that that’s a good thing, seemed a headless chicken everytime I’ve seen him

He’s not really had a chance to be fair, Neil is never getting dropped and the only time we’ve played Samed was with Neil which was utterly pointless they don’t compliment each other at all. I don’t mind him I think he’s looked decent last few times he’s played and he could defo a job for us as the 6 imo.

There is that side of it too not like he’s had a run, I don’t think our midfield is a particularly good unit if that makes sense individually they’re all very good but we can be so easy to play through I think that will be a big focus in the someone solid midfield and strength outside will transform us

I won’t be devastated if we go up I would be very very happy but I’d prefer not too.
2 questions:
At what point do you want us to get knocked out of the playoffs?
Would you have preferred us to find sh 7th just to ensure our current status?

Don't go every week because of work, changed for next season though got my season ticket back. Got 2 100% seasons under my belt (home and away) all through the hope of reaching the end goal, whether that's promotion, survival, a trophy.

Why do you bother going/watching if there's no end goal? Like do you want us to miss the winning penalty at Wembley? Concede last minute to Coventry to lose? All so you can see a few more wins next season?

Football from the top to the bottom has that problem, it's not isolated to the PL.

I've got 2 best mates. Keen fisherman. They used to let me borrow one of their old rods so I could go with them. They would judge the success of their day by counting how many fish they caught by the end of it. I used to judge the quality of mine by remembering how many times we all laughed so hard that we would almost pass out. Honestly, I used to enjoy the drive up to Kielder more than the actual fishing. If we threw in one cast, reeled in, got back in the car and drove home, it wouldnt have bothered me.
What I'm saying is is that the journey to the Premier League will probably be alot more fun than actually being in it. If we fail this time, hopefully we'll have another pop at it next season. I prefer this mindset. The football mindset I used to have was not good for my mental health.

I don’t go anymore mate, well maybe the odd game here and there but that’s all.
Well if you read all my posts you will see I would be over the moon if we went up but I would prefer not to, to answer your other question, probably in the round before Wembley, I have been to enough Wembley defeats.
