Neil and Cirkin new contracts are the priority at the moment. Then if we can get Watson to sign a new deal that would be great. Then i'd be looking to see if Rigg would extend his deal.

We're in a good spot whether we are promoted or not. If we go up, our model has put us in a place where a large portion of the squad will be able to step up to at least be squad players in the PL. If we don't, we can easily pull in £50m+ in sales and have a real go at getting into the automatic places next season.

Whatever the outcome of this season we are in a great position. If we go up we potentially get another season out of the likes of Jobe plus a war chest to invest or we don’t get promoted and move £50m+ minimum of players on and rebuild. We have a very good squad so I don’t think the loss of one player alone will be of that big of a detriment to our progression.

Literally just wrote something with the same figure in and your comment loaded up as I posted, football manager friends :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I have no great desire to go up this season but if we do well done to the lads, I believe we would have an incredible season in the Championship next year, similar to under Reidy.
How many of our best players left back then when we failed to go up, anyone remember?

Contract extensions for the very excellent Dan, Denis and Tommy....and for the also very excellent Kristian Speakman..would make me a very happy man.

There's a rebuild coming this summer either way I think.

If we don't go up, then we'll be replacing 4 or 5 of Jobe, Neil, Rigg, Watson, Hume & Cirkin.

If we do go up, we need quality first team ready players and to look at moving on the likes of Huggins, Alese & possibly Ballard who aren't robust enough to be relied on every week. Then of course the deadwood and those who will be seen as surplus to requirements at that level (Hjelde, Browne, Poveda).
Plus Le Fee, Mepham, Samed and likely/possibly Danns....

Neil and Watson have contracts that expire at the end of next season and so far haven't accepted new deals. We'll sell if they can't agree.

Rigg will have half of the world's best teams in for him again.

We won't be under pressure to sell Hume but if the bids are around £20m like Fulham were rumoured to be ready to pay, then we'll probably sell.
Cirkin too...

Assuming none go, who is actually ready to play in the Premier league.

Le Fee
Jobe
Neil
Isidor

possibles:
Mepham
Mundle
Cirkin
Hume
Samed

soon:
Rigg
Watson
Mayenda

outside chance:
Aleksic
Roberts
Ballard
Huggins
Patterson
Triantis
Seelt

wild card.
O’Nien

I don’t think any of the others such as Alese, Ekwah, Hjelde, Browne or any of our under 21’s would feature.

.

Personally i think most of the current squad can either step up and play regularly or do a job as part of the squad. Obviously we will need reinforcing, but not by a huge amount.

Also I am surprised you have written off Alese, if he can get over his terrible luck with injury, there is a hell of a player there, that would make the jump to the Premier league.

Regardless what league we end up in, Mepham needs to be ours.

solid, experienced and still of a good age.

Id promote Aleksic and Seelt to the soon category.
I’d love to add Huggins as well but like Alese he just misses too many games.

I’m sure KLD and KS will be war gaming both potential scenarios - another season in the Championship or a new season in the PL. They will already have a good idea of who will move on if we don’t go up and will no doubt have a value in mind for each individual player and subsequently a list of names of who to target to fill those gaps. Similarly if we do achieve promotion they will know where we will need to strengthen and have a list of players in mind and a budget from which to work on. In either scenario, I think we are going to see major changes to the squad, regardless of which league we are in

I think we have plenty that might step up.
I'm not sure we’ve got a first choice premier league centre half, right winger or goalkeeper.

When we go up, I think there'll be tinkering to the core squad, but not wholesale changes. Mepham into a perm and a few additions. Move on the fringe players.

On the outside chance we don't go up. Dan Neil, Jobe and Watson away,.le Fee and meopham returned. A couple of new faces and go again.

I agree. It’s hard to pick players because they have all been good players for us but me I would have doubts about Patterson, Ballard, Hume, Roberts and Onien making the step up
