I do think Jobe will leave regardless of where we are next season... Its the next step in his progression. But if we accept 20m given all the clubs allegedly showing interest, i'd be amazed
I don’t work at the club, never have mate. Just thought I’d chip in here with my opinion. Ive never been the person tasked with replying to shyte offers. Mind would be a canny job tbf - “Dear xxx Thanks for your offer. After careful consideration, we’ve decided it’s ****e. Regards”
Best advice - avoid media when it comes to tfr gossip. In particular on fees. A mate involved in the agency business reckons fee speculation is rarely right in advance of any deal, a bit more so after but even then rarely 100% accurate.
I do think there is a lot of dialogue about so many players being irreplaceable but I think if we are smart their impact is very much replicable or even improved upon - naive to assume we in the 2nd tier have unearthed these one of a kind players.
Think the midfield needs freshening up this summer regardless, 2 of them will be away which will give us the funds to do it, Tommy Doyle will be a good start
Yeah I do like Doyle, not 100% sure what sort of role would best suit him in our system as: hes so versatile, feels like we dont have a system at the minute. Keep seeing that rumour all the time though and he seems destined to drop to the top end of the champ or a low end prem team, the fee is however something I am slightly unsure about, only cost them £5m last summer but 3-5 years left on his deal (he has an option and so do the club to extend until 2030), they will want a profit but then there is such a large range they could ask for.
If we managed to use the Watson money for him and Mepham, this is assuming we stay down, I think it’s an excellent start, we need more men and less projects next season if we’re serious about a top 2 challenge
