Loads of random Sunderland children on tiktok keep telling us to buy Altay Bayindir from United if we go up.

as much as they’re silly I really wouldn’t mind that :D

Aware these are big clubs but i'd love us to be looking at these types of players if we go up
The draw of a place in the starting 11 is/will be a big a plus for us in attracting youngsters like him.

Yep,that, and who else is being brought in to improve the squad.A 15 point season where we can't get the ball,or use it when we do get it,isn't going to do much for a kid like him.

Yeah would hope it could help attracting some players, as for kone he probably would start for most of those teams - but the point still stands it will be a pull for others.

Really not surprised, Oxford fans were raving about him and he was nowhere near his best. Think its easy to take your own player for granted when you see him each week, same probably goes for Neil and Rigg and honestly think Patterson to a certain extent.

I don't think any of those four have been near to their best in the last couple of months.....question is,and I'm really puzzled...why?

Winding down for a while?

Not great for a professional footballer but a big percentage of the fan base accepted we wouldn't go up automatically months ago, maybe these lads have since the Leeds defeat and have been ticking over til the play offs knowing we were almost guaranteed that months ago...

Wild theory but we've seen a lot worse from some of the so called pros who have played for us over the years!

Good shout. With having such a young team, and knowing how they seemed to burn out last season, it could be a case of pacing themselves. It's important that they keep enough in the tank to go full whack at the play-offs.

Just hope they can step back up to the required level if so. Like someone mentioned a day or 2 ago, we came into the season flying out of the blocks so hopefully we can do something again.

All being said and done though, we have raised our game for the bigger games every time and only Leeds have come out of both games against each other looking the better side.

We 100% outplayed Sheff Utd in both games and I'm confident we could beat them at Wembley. If it's to be Bristol City in the semi's as well then I have the same confidence. Boro, Millwall as well. Just wouldn't fancy facing Coventry but it would be the perfect time to get over that hump!

Birmingham City and Wrexham are expected to flex their financial muscles this summer and are likely to be among the biggest spenders outside the Premier League once the transfer window opens.

Both clubs are ready to mount a push for the top division and both have spending power on a par with those Championship clubs that already benefit from Premier League parachute payments.

Sky Sports News has been told that Birmingham and Wrexham are likely to be targeting similar players to the likes of Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton - and some of the smaller Premier League clubs this summer.

Crucially, because both have been promoted from League One, where the financial fair play rules are very different to the Championship, both have a lot of freedom to invest in their teams this summer.

In League One, clubs have only been allowed to spend 60 per cent of their total turnover on players although this is changing for next season, to further limit the amount wealthy owners can pump in.

In the Championship, the rules say no more than £39m can be lost over any three-year period. For Wrexham and Birmingham, that gives a lot of leeway to invest in the squad because a new three-year cycle starts now.
Theoretically, both clubs could gamble the family silver for the next two years, trying to reach English football's promised land, knowing that if they fail, they have a third season to claw costs back and still remain within the PSR limits.

It has been made clear to me that neither Birmingham nor Wrexham want to do that and "gamble" on getting to the top division. Instead, both are looking to expand their commercial revenues even more spectacularly, so that they have even more cash to spend on players. But their spending power is already mighty and impressive.

Trust us to finally go into a window being able to spend around £10m on a player and then losing that player to Wrexham.

Surely Wrexham are quite skint owner wise in comparison to other Championship clubs?

They have chucked the money about to buy promotion so far but surely this is the level where that stops for them?

Surely them to from Hollywood are worth a lot less than the Billionaires owning clubs these days?

Doesn’t matter how much you’re worth if you don’t spend.. they’ll just get investment or loans. In terms of Wrexham though they need a full squad, their current squad is absolute dog **** in comparison to most championship clubs.
