Just as in we have ticked over to a new financial year in the eyes of the PSR - Same for majority of team excluding a couple, its why arsenal had delayed announcing their signings such as Kepa and Zubimendi so that its counts towards this year rather than last and why Liverpool wanted there big signing in last year as itll count towards the year where they won the league and got more prize money (assumption)
Maybe I've got it wrong then as my understanding is that it makes no difference when a player is purchased as the cost for accounting (and therefore PSR) purposes is spread/amortised across the length of that player's contract. So if Arsenal sign Zubimendi on a five year contract today, they recognise one fifth of the price in this year. Exactly the same would have applied if they bought him yesterday or even a week ago. The only difference I can see is that you defer their wages going on your books for a period but that's a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of things for these clubs.
I'd have expected the option for Ekwah expired yesterday which suggests that will either be announced soon or they haven't exercised it like their manager suggested they would.
I think in general we are putting way too much emphasis on the 30 June / 1 July dates and in reality it only really matters for sides who are about to fail PSR.
It's a definite milestone for clubs that need to sell to avoid failing PSR but I just can't see that it really affects buying clubs.
Doesn’t affect them but would have imagined would see them pushing deals through. Didn't happen though so meh.
Just being looking at our squad and I’d say the players who could be in or out of the squad are: Patto, Huggins, Hjelde, Alese, Triantis, Browne Who do we think will stay/go?
wouldn't like to predict. there are so many we need to sell or loan out that it almost feels an overwhelming challenge to even think about it let alone do it.
The Athletic today is saying Harvey Elliott is available for around £50m or £40m if a buy back is inserted.
This summer, Ilya Zabarnyi (Bournemouth) is the priority of Paris Saint-Germain. But the capital club has to face Cherries that remain firm. For this reason, the negotiations are slipping. At the same time, the European champions are making progress on other issues. The names of Mario Gila (Lazio) or Diogo Leite (Union Berlin) were mentioned. This Monday, a new name came out of the hat. Marca reveals that the residents of the Parc des Princes also included Yarek Gasiorowski in their short-list. Aged 20, this Spanish central defender is under contract until 2027 with FC Valencia. A club that will not be difficult to convince since it is open to the sale of the player who has a release clause of €60 million. But Paris will have competition if it ever decides to accelerate on this file. Indeed, Brighton and Sunderland are interested in its services. The Dutch press, on the other hand, mentions the track leading to PSV Eindhoven and especially Feyenoord, which made two offers. The first of €6 million, the second of €8 million. But the club is in the meantime in €10 and €12 million. A sum that would not be a problem for PSG. (Footmercato)
