Depends on the fee but I’d love for him to stay I think he has what it takes to be one of our best players this season when my mate who’s a Chelsea fan watched mundle he noticed the difference in quality he brought
Unfortunately don't think they'd be remotely close, I wouldn't be too keen on losing another of the squad but he only managed a third of our games last season which is a slight worry.
FWIW I don't think Mundle is going anywhere so if we Sign Lauriente, maybe Bischoff is brought in as LWB/LB back up or doesn't come in at all
It's all about intent. We'll see how it pans out, but if there is truth in the idea that we're targeting 5 key signings to go directly into the first team picture then LW is at best the 5th on the list of priority - and that is probably being a bit generous. If we're going further than 5 - or we find significant contributors for lower prices - then all good.
I don't think he'd come in at all, although the fee would be pretty easy to almost write off with being so low. We probably wouldn't want a right footed left back as the only other option as Le bris wants them to go on the outside.
I disagree myself, I think LW and RW are the most important as well as CM. I'm not comfortable going into a season where we need pace on the break and to only have Mundle who can do that and he's suffering from some hamstring injuries, which are notorious for recurring
I'd prefer to keep him, I think he's one of a handful that could end up thriving in the Premier League given a bit more experience, can we have all three?
Would be nice but squad probably too thin to focus on left wingers only - maybe the club could see the future sell on potential in Bischoff that makes it more than worthwhile
Lot of talk recently about value in the UK market. If you are top 6 side you have to get Eze for £60m. That boy is top class. Compared to some deals that is cheap as chips.
RW, CMx2, DC. All of those are inarguably more important than LW. Gets a bit murkier from there, but I'd probably rather spend big on another centre half before I spend big on another winger. Either that or a wide option who seems more naturally able to play both sides with complete comfort (albeit I'm very much relying on youtube so Lauriente may be more capable there).
Maybe it works then - although I'd be astonished if he ever plays a minute through the middle. Just seems a bit weird to earmark a player whose recent career was so heavily based on success from wide left to take a critical role wide right. Its a role he doesn't appear to have played in a very long time (if transfermarkt is to be believed). See how it all works out though I guess. There's definitely a world where it makes complete sense when we see it all together.
We should probably place some of our focus on versatile players, a winger who can play both sides a bit more naturally than Mundle and Roberts would probably benefit the squad. I'd still probably take all three if that was an option and find a way to either rotate or squeeze them in.
Interestingly transfermarkt lists Bischoff's primary position at left midfield (presumably in a 4-4-2) rather than a left winger.
I advise people to check out the quote tweets to this, a load of neutral fans surprised we of all clubs look like signing him
