I just don't know if I would be spending that amount of money buying from that league in our position.
Probably not worth grouping Rusyn and Vanat into the same category, despite being in the same league. My main takeaway of Vanat is that although the general level of defending can be criticized his movement and sorting his feet to shoot quickly on either foot around the box is great. He doesn't rely on taking players on necessarily so as long as the rest of our attack can find him with combinations around the edge of the box or whipped balls in I could see him scoring goals at any level. Physicality concerns are valid though, but he has a solid frame and although lean uses his body well. But will that transition to the premier league? You'd hope so.
Funny enough I was just thinking the other day Mayenda reminds me a little bit of Michail Antonio. Short, powerful and full of energy nightmare for defenders but Mayenda looks much better with the ball at his feet than Antonio ever did.
Think he's been the best striker in the Championship for the last few years, when fit. Still wouldn't go near him though, they'll want £15m+.
If any of our players mentioned in that piece think they will have a brighter future at West Ham rather than us,they need to go for a long lie down in a dark room. When I'm considering next season and looking at established PL clubs who might struggle and give us a chance of staying up,West Ham are at the top of the list.
Like to know what people think of Hackney..? Do we rate him over Dan Neil? My mate is a smoggie and thinks a lot of him. Obviously been preferred to Neil in England set up too
He always plays well against us, I think he’s a good player but not seen loads of him, linked to Porto a lot recently and wouldn’t be against us having a look
His data from last season is very good but boro generally dominate the ball so it’s likely to be. Hard to determine based on just that but on the few occasions I’ve watched him he does look fairly decent whereas I’ve seen a lot of Neil so I’ve seen plenty of good games and plenty of bad. I’m sure Hackney will have had his fair share of bad games that I haven’t seen
I'd be disappointed if Im proven to be wrong, but I feel like our days of selling to clubs like West Ham etc are behind us for the next 12 months at least. Will be the biggest clubs only whilst we are in the Prem imo, Speakman will be targeting ways of trying to surpass the likes of West Ham/Wolves etc so selling our biggest assets to clubs like them wouldnt make any sense. Again, really hope im not wrong, but I'd be surprised if there are any other sales of our key players after Jobe has left. Think all the others are happy here, and wouldnt get moves that are any better for their development than Sunderland for next season. New contracts for Hume, Neil, Cirkin, Rigg, Mayenda, Mundle should be the priority leading up to the official window opening imo.
We are definitely a selling club but we are also a buying club. Pretty excited to see the former feed the latter. Think our squad will be much much stronger at the end of the window than it was at the end of the season.
Good player but absolutely not the Xavi/Iniest hybrid that boro fans think he is. Don’t think they’ll keep hold of him much longer.
I dont know any Coventry supporters but a mate who does says Rudoni is leaving, however they won’t announce it until after the SC renewal period ends … … no idea if that stacks up, just found it amusing.
isn’t this akin to spurs extending Ben Davies linked with Wrexham and levy extends his deal, not letting him go for nowt
