he’s going to be their record signing. They’re 100% signing him to play him. I don’t think his father lets the move happen without that assurance
what nobody can be sure of yet is if he does well or not. I genuinely think it’s a year too early for him and he’s been forced to move early because they’re scared of the premier league
I think if we hadn’t gone up he’d already be gone the only difference it would have made is the amount we get
I thought the same but then remember how much he’s improved since his first season here. The growth was ridiculous last summer. If he develops at the same rate then he’ll smash it
I think he will do class over there personally, his issue is people will fixate on G/A stats and that's not really his strength he offers much more on a all round game level
He wasn’t all that even in 23/24. He has the odd run of form but his football intelligence is definitely sub optimal, he’s lightning quick physically but doesn’t read the game well enough to make use of it. I’d be very disappointed if we were after him.
If he was to stay with us for another year and we were allowed to manage his minutes appropriately I think he'd be well looked after and RLB would continue to develop him without him being overplayed/over exposed. Obviously his family aren't prepared to let that happen. With the best will in the world he isn't at the level Jude was when he went over there and I worry that the Bellingham name will weigh much heavier on him at Dortmund than it has/would have over here
I agree but they’ll defo play him. I’ve said already I think Jobe currently is probably playing at the level of a £10m player. Potential wise yes, incredible and worth £30m for someone to take a risk on absolutely. But if we signed him for £30m for this coming season a lot of our fans would be severely disappointed with his current ability. He was nowhere near some of the other champ midfielders last season and you’d fall off your chair at the thought of paying even £15m for some of them.
If he was to stay here another season and we were in a relegation scrap I think his form and value would plummet. Could be the right time for all concerned.
I think the people we have incharge have a long term strategy that will include an outcome for potential relegation, the long term health of the club is obviously related to its financial viability, that means no unmitigated risk that could put the club in a critical position. Say you buy a player for £25m and get relegated, if the player has a good profile and performed well during the season you could still expect to make most of that back (mitigated risk), that isn't necessarily scalable upward for a club like ours though, for example if we paid £50m for a player and got relegated, no matter how good he was you would be taking a big loss on a player like that.
Don’t agree being in a relegation scrap means his form would plummet and being in a relegation team didn’t do Liam Delaps value any harm….signed for about 16m and now moved on for over 30m It doesn’t matter anyway as Bellingham isn’t staying
Dortmund are rebuilding their midfield so he'll definitely get minutes across all the competitions they are in. Groß, Sabitzer and Can (more of a CB now anyway) are all the wrong side of 30, Brandt and Nmecha have been linked away.
