Huge. Loads on the books nowhere near good enough.Must be the fewest we’ve ever released, big clear out coming this summer
Yeah i agree. Another good year we get 50 million. For all the good he’s done and I like him, there feels like a narrative of ‘thanks what he’s given us’. It’s mutual and should remain so. I’m not convinced of it wasn’t him we wouldn’t have played hardball a bit more and my instincts tell me his dad like any agent maybe needed a rain check on who’s in charge.Yeah this. I really like jobe, and he’s done well by us with the profit. But he only really give us one good season, then left. Not knocking a move to Dortmund obviously, a mega club and trying not to sound bitter with this because im really not, just disappointed he hasn’t given us one more year.
Wish him will, can’t say I will follow him at Dortmund and I’ll probably remember him in the same light as I did an Amad or a Clarke. Think he will reach the top though.
This, nothing but respect for the ladWish Jobe nothing but the best.
It was obvious from the moment he signed that we were just one stepping stone in a grand plan that had already been laid out for his career.
Despite that, he’s played with the passion and commitment of someone who’d grown up as a Sunderland fan. It’s been absolutely brilliant to watch him develop and I hope he goes on to play at the very top of the game for the rest of his career.
I actually really like the idea of him and Jude in the same midfield for England one day. I think their skillsets would compliment each other nicely as part of a three.
It’s one of the things that’s slightly irking me. Even our own fans are saying ‘Doetmund will develop him well’. So do we, in fact we have. Even when off form we gave him space to develop. We need the Sunderland develop people narrative to be as loud as Dortmund’s in this story. We’re a premier league club.As been said before, obviously Jobe and his family has planned his career and how they want it to proceed and develop - I can totally understand that. Yes it was said at the time of him signing that we were astepping stone to the next level but the one thing I can't really understand is, it's been said in the media by Jobe that he wants to have his own career and not be compared to his brother - fair dos - but he's going to the one club he will defintely be compared with his brother. I can understand to an extent, Jude was brought on there and the Dortmund made him into the player he is today plus offer Champions League football but if Jobe isn't wanting to be compared to Jude (and lets face it, no matter where he goes, he probably will) but this will totally focus that comparison
How's it going to do that? His loan has finished and he's gone back to his parent club.If we want him,we're going to have to do a deal...and they'll know we like him, which might drive the price up.It would be nice to think that was a way to drive the price down for Mepham
I wonder if Middlesbrough are one of the ones interested - if he’s settled in the north east and we decide to look elsewhere.think a number of clubs in the Championship are after him too,
just depends,
there is a deal to be made,
Chris and his partner are settled in the area,
think this is one to watch for
For a 17 year old he was very good and his potential and scope for development was obvious.Tbf he wasn’t that good when he first signed here. It’s how much he’s improved that makes him the player he is today. Scary the development already
Yep. 45 league appearances in his first season here, he was 17 then 18 in the September. What was that, something in the contract…?It’s one of the things that’s slightly irking me. We have different opinions of what ‘very good’ is, then. For a 17 year old he was very good and his potential and scope for development was obvious.

They are a champions league club so I’m not being naive, but we develop players well these days .The bit in bold is true but this is only the start of the club's journey. I would love the club to build players up to be seen as world class playing for us in the Prem but we all know that money talks and it talks loudest in this league. Personally speaking, I think Jobe is on a hiding to nothing no matter where he plays - his brother has made that surname stand out big style.
I just want to say this out loud also. We’ve also done a lot for him.
