of course they will keep it, it gives sly 2 'exclusives' a year...i have honestly never watched it as much as i have today (nowt else to do) and while most teams have had a couple of mentions i got really annoyed at the constant 5 or 6 deals they needed to revisit every five feckin minutes, mainly isak and wissa, i mean, you have just been there and he had just been driven out for his medical, ffs they are not at the end of the street yet man.
I was concerned that most of the departures are on loan and not permanent but if they can have good years and we can get a few fees it’ll help with next years PSR
Actually sad about Roberts like. Anar it makes sense but **** that he won’t make a difference for us in the prem. That pass at Wembley is timeless. Cheers paddy, good luck
Aye. I’ve loved watching the lad, I’ve loved that he fell back in love with the game here, and we will never forget Sheff Wed, Wembley and the Amad partnership. He’s been a good one. I will be adopting Brum for the Champ this season. Tried to convince myself he had a role this season, out of sentiment, but let’s be honest, he didn’t. He’s been class.
Was unreal with Amad. Actually enjoyed watching him more than Amad that season which is probably a crackers opinion. Sheff wed, Wembley crucial to what has happened to us. Was frustrating aye, goal contributions were poor aye, but give it all for us. Under the radar his off the ball work last year as well as his availability. Football business though, I get it.
Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Brian Brobbey, subject to international clearance. Moving to Wearside from Ajax, the 23-year-old striker has signed a five-year contract at the Stadium of Light. Brobbey departs his boyhood Club with an exceptional goalscoring record across two spells, which saw him contribute 56 goals and 24 assists in 163 appearances. A two-time Eredivisie winner and the league’s Player of the Season for the 2023-24 season, the Netherlands international has also been capped eight times at senior level. Brobbey said: “It feels great to be a Sunderland player. I spoke with Nordi Mukiele, who I know from my time in RB Leipzig, and he told me about the Club, the fans, and how it feels like a family. I first talked with Sunderland over a month ago, and I have seen the stadium and the fans this season, and I can’t wait to be a part of that passion. It’s emotional to say goodbye to Ajax, as I grew up here and I’m going to miss everyone, but the Premier League is the biggest stage in the world, and I’m ready for this next chapter.” Sporting Director, Kristjaan Speakman said: “Brian is a player that we have been tracking throughout the summer, and he’s a really interesting player for us to acquire, as he’s a different profile to the other forwards we have in the squad. The timing of this opportunity was perfect, and he matched our ambition to find a forward capable of significantly enhancing the team. We are delighted to have him at Sunderland, and look forward to watching him take this next step with us in the Premier League.” Born in Amsterdam, the 23-year-old joined Ajax’s acclaimed academy system aged eight and progressed rapidly through the ranks at De Toekomst. He starred for Jong Ajax from 2018 to 2020 and marked his senior debut in trademark fashion in October 2020, scoring after coming off the bench in a 5-2 win over Fortuna Sittard. Further senior appearances and goals followed at the Amsterdam Arena, including experiences in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, before a move to RB Leipzig in July 2021. Brobbey returned to Ajax on loan in January 2022 and scored seven times in 11 Eredivisie appearances before sealing a permanent return to his boyhood Club six months later. He scored 43 and contributed 21 assists across the next three seasons, whilst also being named Eredivisie Player of the Month three times and winning the Eredivisie Player of the Season for 2023-24 campaign. A league title winner with Ajax in 2021 and 2022, Brobbey also won the KNVB Cup in 2021 and the UEFA European Under-17 Championship with the Netherlands in 2018 and 2019. The striker has made eight senior appearances for his country to date, with his first goal coming one year ago in a UEFA Nations League victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Assists were poor, I’d wager his goal contributions weren’t if we could see that stat. I get what your saying re the Amad season, Amad often took the shot and as such stood out but he was mesmerising, as a pair they were just stunnjng.
