love ballard me but he's not shy of picking up an injury

think after that it will depend on outgoings
will huggins go out on loan
and then if neil leaves aswell
Yep same, still wouldn't be surprised if Roberts left as well

Feel 3 minimum and as you said if others leave then they'll be replace

The 2 musts for me are another CB and a least 1 more forward

Seeing how kids are at academies from an early stage there should be no such thing nowadays. I taught myself to use my right foot from an early stage so I felt comfortable on either foot when I played, to the point people didn't know which was my stronger one.
Just a lazy excuse imo.

Good post. I practised and practised until I got proficient with both feet.

My Grandson, who's 3, is very left footed and I see getting him to use his right foot as 'work in progress'. Hasn't grasped the idea of bringing his right leg back yet, but we'll get there. He's Rigg-like with his left mind.

Be interesting what he's like when he's back, 3 hamstring injuries in a short space of time is a concern (might only be 2 tbf as think the surgery was in relation to his 2nd one not healing right)

I really rate Mundle so hope he can get fully fit

I remember rlb saying that they took a gamble going the non surgery route for his 2nd hamstring injury. Unfortunately it didn't work out . Hindsight they should have got the surgery straight away

Yeh this was all my point was. Trying to share my awful experience and the lesson I learnt from it.

The police told me you should never post your house on social media or give any distinguishable feature from it. A favourite of burglars nowadays is to look for holiday photos from people that are clearly still on holiday and then try to identify previous posts to see if there's any clues as to where they live. They then do scout outs to see if they can find that property and whether its still clearly vacant.

This is what the police think happened to me. I could have just got incredibly unlucky of course. The criminals were never caught so we couldn't find out. But we had to move house to be sure (and frankly for the PTSD)

I never post holiday photos on Social Media, for precisely that reason, even when I'm back from holiday.

A lot of people go on holiday around the same time every year. If a criminal susses that out and locates your house, you're a serious target.

I was once involved in helping a homeowner in Newstead Abbey Park, near Mansfield, to recover some goods he'd had stolen.

To cut a long story short the thieves had followed a taxi firm, watched from the bushes, as the luggage was loaded and videoed the owner as he tapped in the alarm code.

It turned out that the poor taxi driver was totally innocent but was suspected, kidnapped and worked over.

The police didn't bother pursuing it but I spent a month, virtually living rough, until I caught the thieves spying on another house in the domain.

The 'mastermind' turned out to be an old Doris who worked on dispatch so had her routine all worked out.

"Ooh, Malta, we went there for our anniversary .... two weeks, lucky you ... nice to take the whole family." <laugh>

Surely no one thinks Dan Neil is upset Xhaka has got captaincy. There’s no way when we signed him that Dan Neil would think or expect to have the armband when someone like GX walks through the door. If he doesn’t understand then he must be daft
Especially when neil has not signed a contract

Sunderland AFC confirms that Pierre Ekwah has completed a permanent transfer to AS Saint-Étienne.

The midfielder moves for an undisclosed fee after the Ligue 2 side triggered an option in the agreement that saw the Frenchman spend the 2024-25 season on loan at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Ekwah, 23, moved to England in 2019 and, following spells with Chelsea and West Ham United, he arrived on Wearside in January 2023.

The midfielder made 61 appearances and scored five goals during his time at the Stadium of Light, which came to an end last summer.

After making 29 appearances for Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1, Ekwah will now be part of Les Verts’ quest to seal an immediate return to the French top tier.

Kristjaan Speakman said: “Pierre moved last summer to play regularly and continue his development. He achieved this, and although it was a challenging season for Saint-Étienne, their decision to exercise this option indicates the level of his performances. Pierre joined us without any senior experience – he believed in Sunderland, and we believed in him. We are proud of the role we have played in his career, and he is rightly held in high esteem by our supporters. We all wish him well in the next chapter of his career."

All at Sunderland AFC thank Pierre for his contribution and wish him the best of luck at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Good look Pierre. Good player on his day, likeable character, hope he succeeds elsewhere.

Xhaka has started on his coaching badges, he may only have one left to do. That being the case, could we speculate that the club see a long term role for Xhaka after his playing days?
Sorry to deflect the transfer thread for the sake of a few musings.
Perhaps we will get some transfer news shortly.
Did we not hear about kld selling xhaka the 10 year project and I am sure coaching was mentioned. May be wrong
