I keep seeing folk say he slows it down too much. Am I the only one who remembers the pace we played under Mowbray? Some of his fast passing and forward thinking was very good.

I shouldnt keep defending him I suppose.

It's fair to mention that IMO.

I still think that facing your own goal and taking the ball like that is a tough ask for anyone, in any team and not many do it well. You don't "stand out" very much when you do it

Dan is a good player. He has learned that role pretty well and when the play opens up he has the vision and ability to pass it well.

The final third of last season our midfield tired. It was as clear as a bell and they all looked a bit sluggish at times. Regis played a blinder resting them like he did.

But Dan has to want to stay. The money is not my business, but they don't appear to be skinflinting Ballard for instance.

Get signed up Dan. This is where you fit.

Yeah, seems the numbers finally got to what BL wanted. It's a statement signing, no doubt about it.

I hope you lot who watch the Bundes regular are correct, as it's a massive package for someone who is 33 next month.
It's a big risk, but hopefully one that pays off in a big way - or we stay up anyway so we can flog him to Saudi at a loss!:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Oh dear, I worry as to where this leaves me.
I am 70 in 2 weeks time (12th August) but love all the transfer stuff put out by the "suspects" because I have zero/little knowledge of the people linked/discussed.
I read their insights carefully, comparing different views and then make my own mind up using the famous litmus test - youtube videos.
Long may they continue imo as it is easy to skip past them.
FWIW I don't have anyone on ignore as I think everyone makes a valid contribution at some time and if I quickly see that it is something that I don't like/agree with i just quickly move on to the next post or page(s) as I see fit.
Yep. I'm the same. Will just continue to read all posts, agree/disagree as I see fit - and reserve the right to tell people to **** off and pipe down when they get too uppity:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Aye. We need experience and need someone to set the bar high. He does that no doubt about it. I just want to see him and Diarra bounce people into orbit while ELF produces the magic
That’s exactly it. Current squad massively lacking

He'll be like a Rolls Royce midfielder sat infront of the back 4 pulling the strings whilst our younger lads do all the running.
What a signing this is for us, it reminds me when we signed Steffan Schwartz who coincidentally was an ex Gunner aswell.

This'll be huge for us, probably the most important signing we've made so far imo. Also takes huge pressure off us when the Afcon starts aswell.

It is mate. But all the other signings have a sell on value. Some possibly more than we paid, and a player like that should improve others as well as his own contribution.

I don't think about the cash in all honesty, it's not mine. This lot are different gravy, and I don't see them spending all this time building steadily to chuck it all on the red.

What's nice about Xhaka is he will also put in a shift as well

Really good leader and organiser but he has that real ability on the ball that we need in CM

If you look at the 6 options we have in CM, it's becoming a real strength now - obviously Neil might go now and if he does he will need replacing

Xhaka is just a different level type of signing for us, a calm (and at times heated) head in the middle with the young talent we have is exactly what we need

Now get him announced and get the CBs and Gk in
