This is a crap analogy but threads are like a house party, ya start off and everyone’s split off into little groups and different rooms but by the end of the night everyone is p!ssed, naked and rammed into one room, or is that just my house parties

Not sure mate I’ll have an invite next time to make sure

This thread is already mental, I love it

I'm not particularly bothered tbh, I'd just rather not have Sunderland stuff missed because it all gets messy.

I think it basically boils down to 'people who are only really interested in Sunderland' ...

... and those who spend their entire lives totally obsessed with football and all the clubs/players/managers around the world <laugh>

How do we think we are comparing to Leeds currently in the transfer market? Thought we were well ahead of them a week ago but they are starting to catch up, hopefully we have something up our sleeve over the next week.

I’d be intrigued to see how Salah does if Liverpool have a proper 9. I don’t think they’ve ever really had one the time he’s been there and Newcastle play their football to cater for Isak. Salah has been the main man for Liverpool but they could potentially have Ekitike and Wirtz also in there with Isak.

Wonder if they’re thinking of life without Salah, especially if they get another massive bid from Saudi next year. Would make sense him going there he’d be another huge coup for that league and a posterboy. Maybe Saudis and Liverpool are scratching each others back here… maybe :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I think they are signing well, bit of a different strategy - Impossible to compare purely on paper but I'd say we are about even squad wise now first 11 wise but they have more in depth still imo

I think its impossible to know until we get deep into the season.

They've very much taken the approach of signing 26-30 year olds who are in their prime, whereas we've gone younger and older

They were starting from a stronger position than us as well, so even if we have a better window they might still be "ahead"

Better so far.

I still think they’ll pull off a couple of big transfers yet. Burnley look awful, they’ll be overrun in midfield most games.

I reckon us and Leeds will survive this season.

Without wanting to seem negative, I struggle to put us ahead of anyone whilst Ballard and Seelt remain our only centre backs. And thats nothing against them two.

The business we have done is great, its the business we haven't done yet which keeps things uncertain.

Think youre right in this whole life after Salah strategy - bringing in one potentially world class striker and one who is on the cusp definitely softens the blow of him leaving or father time catching up with him

That’s put a right downer on things :emoticon-0105-wink:

I agree though we need a nice solid next level defender or two in the mix
