All these keeper links with boring old European keepers and their hum drum ways are not for me. I want a mad South American to liven up our entertainment. Kevin Mier will do for me. For those who loved Lionel, this lad is off the scale. Class as well mind.
Technically it’s a World Cup season so….. He is still playing, he’s 40 but he’s like leap years so technically he’s a physically advanced 10 year old.
Tbf at this point I can see why we are going for Ramsdale. But it’s a big risk. Let’s hope it pays off if we get him
Ramsdale is a better keeper than people are giving him credit for I think. A 27 year old England International who has 5 years of Premier League experience. People are judging him more because he's playing in the English league and therefore more visible. A lot of these foreign keepers we have a couple of games, a highlight reel and a bit of data to judge them on. If we ignore the price (because we'll pay what the club are willing to spend) then we'd be signing a better keeper who has plenty of experience in this league, is entering his prime and looking at his past 3 transfers, is unlikely to lose any value in the next couple of years.
Step up from Patterson step down from the other two links, very meh for me but that’s probably down to how exiting our other signings have been
I think that’s it. Hopes and expectations have been raised due to the signings we have made and the previous GK links. He wouldn’t be my preferred choice but there is no doubt he is an upgrade and it certainly wouldn’t be a terrible signing.
If you wanted to sign Ramsdale and use Patto as a back up, You just wouldn't state that in a post saying it was only a temporary solution and not a long term one , now would you. I can't see the Club paying for Ramsdale but might be using this to blind side our real targets. refers to #27552
