Its irrelevant what us fans think really...The fact the club are clearly prioritising a goalkeeper tells me Patto is not yet at Premier league standard. Having watched nearly every game last season, I would concur, The lad has a lot of pluses, but at this stage of his career he is someway off being a PL keeper... if the rumours about Southampton are true, that would be a great move for him
Agreed, Bournemouth are an established PL team but that can change quickly. They have a class manager and isn't far from London - that matters but so does playing in front of 40k+ fans every week I'd give Bournemouth the edge but I don't think there's a lot in it Players will come to us because they believe in our project and believe they can keep us up and not only establish ourselves in the PL but potentially become a top 10 PL in the future Our upside is really high if we get it right on and off the pitch I'm sure Sir Alex used to always say that if someone gets it right at Sunderland then there's a massive club there
He pulled off a world class save to keep us in the game but made us nervous for 3 months of the last season and wasn’t in great condition for too long.
Strausburg Chelsea‘s feeder team will come in with 40 million quid for him and ease Chelsea‘s financial problem
Precisely why the club wanted to keep it quiet. They felt they had their man. Sacha won't be favoured journalist by the club now I think
Imagine walking around town after a 3-0 defeat in Bournemouth and the fans are patting you on the back saying "we're just glad to be here", "better luck next time", versus in Sunderland where you might get abused, "ya sh!t man", "al drive ya to the airport".
Seriously this could be awful for Burnley. Losing both centre backs and goalkeeper from a team that basically got promoted due to their defensive record.
Esteve is a quality CB, thought he was head and shoulders above any CBs in the Championship last season
Yeah, this is how I see it too. I do think some of the comments are overly harsh on Patto mind, but thats opinions for you. 2 weeks ago I'd be really confident he'd be our number 1 next season, now I'd be surprised if he started against West Ham. Clearly an area the club are pushing hard for.
Obviously good for us but its getting to the point now where you dont even just lose your best players if you go down, even after promotion the vultures circle. ****e really.
Exactly and I know attacking wise they improved when Edwards joined but without them 3 being as good as they were I don’t think they are even in the top 6 in January they’re massive losses
Eh? Onana is absolutely hopeless. He has made a few good saves, but almost any goalkeeper would, He has let Utd down again and again, often in the most pathetically comic manner. Patto is not perfect, a touch heavy for my taste, but I would definitely rather have him than Onana, who, unbelievably, would actually cost money. We won't be signing a new, exotic sounding player for every position. We cannot afford to and we shouldn't be trying to. If we can afford a better keeper, and they think it's worth doing, then fair enough. But you would want paying to take Onana. My mate has an ST at Old Trafford, and to be fair to him and them, they very rarely get on players backs, and they don't really get on Onana's. But he says that he is easily the worst keeper he has seen there. And he can remember Taibi! Any Man Utd supporter would push him up here, or anywhere else, in a wheelbarrow.
