That's why I'm intrigued to see how he gets on as he is suspect defensively but love the aggression he plays with both in and out of possession He will need fine tuning but he's got the attributes teams look for in a LB I do prefer him as a LWB tho
Good to hear mate. The club seem to have gone into this window with a really clear plan, and options a, b,c etc. It is really impressive. I look forward to seeing what Regis and his new look coaching team deliver. In a daft way our new coach is as exciting as any players we have signed. Imagine working with Pioli for so long. So much knowledge.
Boscagli as his covering centre half will either be great or horrible. Like him as a player but not exactly hard to stand out for PSV as a CB.
Walker would’ve been an unbelievable signing even 18 months ago, not so much now I like his experience mind, still hoping we bring some in
It's laughable seeing other fans assuming we are just rushing into it buying whoever's available but Ghisolfi and Speakman have a clear plan to get all their top targets immediately and get the squad gelled well before the seasons started.
And in england before that, his pace is going and positionally he's been poor for years but was so quick to make up for it. Can't believe how much he's dropped off the last 2 seasons, been shocking and hasn't looked interested at all Switches off a ridiculous amount of times defensively which will be a concern for a team that will be defending a lot It's only worth the risk if he's taken a massive pay cut
A defender who's horrible positionally and relied on pace his whole career (he had tonnes of it), it's almost sad watching him play now his legs have gone.
Had personal problems didn't he? He's always been an athlete type, so long as he stays fit and strong he'll do a job for them.
The coaches last year worked a miracle in my opinion. They were so few on the ground after Dodds left, and even before tbh. You really do need a team within the team of coaches. I dont think less than 5, excluding gk coach, is sustainable. I am in awe of the work that goes in away from matchdays. These lads do 60 hour weeks just on the book. Mind you, I would have loved a chance at it. Really would have. Money was too poor for me to scrap way through youth ranks by the time I got into it. I young lad I coached with, and I gave a leg up to, has just got his first official crack at Man City academy. He is so bloody good it is mad to see him work. He has no dependants and throws every hour he has into it. Never kicked a ball in anger mind, but man can he put on a session. He will soend hours on one session. He brought a week playbook to me once and it was beyond me. We were doing progression stuff and he wanted to week 3 of 3. I had no clue how he was going to make it work, but I trusted him. He smashed it and he had 2 u19 lads assisting him. I just moved the cones and handed out bibs. Elite stuff. But it is always a team that makes the sessions flow. Even in that week I remember taking lads out and doing little 1-1 bits for 5 or 10 mins. Or seeing someone not quite at it and having a word. Massive job coaching. Err, sorry, rambling nonsense.
Personal problems aka kept cheating on his wife The issue with being an athlete type player is once the legs go you lose your x factor and he's never adapted to losing that.. yet If he's on low wages then it's probably worth thw risk but if he's on 100k plus then not worth it for me
Mathias Kvistgaarden going to Norwich is a bit of a coup. Wouldn't have minded him here if we needed a backup/project type but I don't think we do at striker
