Maxim de Cuypers joining Brighton, really looking forward to seeing how he gets on in the PL. He's a player I've watched for about 4 years and he's gone from strength to strength each season, now a full international
Yep great addition imo, I see a few talking about what each signing will mean to the starting 11 but it's going to be a long tough season so we need a squad that could compete
Honestly I think that’s a shocking signing for Burnley. He’s regressed so much and only going one way
Oh aye of course not, it's usually me who's trying to manage expectations when everyone is saying the new signings are unbelievable - I just really like what Sadiki is about and was interesting to hear that we've been monitoring him since last summer too.
You weren't alone. It's a mistake he concedes, and says he changed they way he looked at things. Takes a big bloke to admit a bollock like that. But he also had the iron in him to stick to his principles and we have all reaped the benefit. He was some find by KLD mind.
If you're struggling with the pace of the game in Italy I'm not sure returning to the Prem is the answer. He's been a top player mind.
There was a piece I read recently that I sort of agreed with in terms of his defensive shortcomings - he's quite good in duels but overly aggressive so he either wins the first ball or is drastically out of position. Commits too heavily and sometimes defends higher up than his winger, but looks great when it works and he has undeniable quality on the ball. Would love him if Hürzeler goes back to his 3-4-3 system with a half back in the middle of the defence but not sure he will.
I did see a Burnley fan saying they’re trying to right the wrongs of last time where all they did was sign kids “like Sunderland are going”. I understand that. But surely there’s a middle ground? 28 year olds maybe?
Panic buying b6 Burnley? they are signing frees and people from Salford.. we’re after Europes elite youth
