Anyway, if Lesta do slap £50m price tag on Harvey Barnes, I can see Toon paying it if they don't get any other marquee signings in this window. Eddie Howe is under pressure to add some decent quality to that squad, and with the Saudi Slush fund at his disposal, their new owners are going to want the club to make a statement. Add to the fact that Lesta are skint, need the money and won't be getting anywhere near £120m for Tielemans <laugh>

Which must be a little concerning as it’s being reported you have to sell before you can buy?
I know you will cite injuries from last season, but in the world of football standing still is the equivalent of going backwards, so you would want at least a couple in to freshen the squad.
Nah, Fosse lives in imagination land, he thinks they’ll be fighting for top 4, even with a team that finished bottom half last season.

Every team gets injuries. I could cite the fact that we played the majority of last season without our first choice back 4, but it's just excuses. You have to have a squad capable of coping with injuries to be consistent. Despite Flossy's spin on it all, Lesta have been going backwards for a couple of seasons now and given their current need to sell and with players like Tielemans going into the last year of his contract, their big stars like him, Maddison, Harvey Barnes are definitely in the shop window.

It's a strange one ... to have a sensible conversation ...

Last season was completely disrupted by injuries and also the Thursday / Sunday routine of the European competition. Having had Wilf Ndidi play at the weekend we now have everybody bar Ryan Bertrand fit... and the squad looks very sharp now from a fitness perspective.

I agree that it is good to 'freshen up' a squad ... but we did quite a bit of business last pre-season, with various degrees of success. Daka showed a lot of potential, Soumare, Vestergaard and Bertrand, not so good. Vestergaard now looks to have lost a lot of weight and has looked good in pre season in terms of mobility and also his long range passing. Soumare has had an excellent pre-season prompting many Leicester fans to urge the club to give him another chance. Similarly, Dennis Praet is back in the squad from a 12cmonth loan at Torino and has looked excellent - same result from the fans - indeed the 3 Belgian lads look great playing together.

If everyone stays, I'll be delighted ... competition in midfield and defence will be very healthy. Can see players like Mendy and Choudhry going out on loan, at least, as they will be even further down the pecking order.

One 'surprise' sale might be Schmeichel...

As I said, it's a bit of a strange one <cheers>

Ponky - every player at every club is in the shop window <doh> ... but just like every club we don't want to sell our best ... now if they want to leave we will let them ... but only as and when it suits the club and for sums that suit us, not the buyers ...

Maddison and Barnes will be playing for us this season because I doubt other clubs will match the price we would want for either ... not many willing to play a Maguire mark-up.

Tielemans is different because of the length of his contract ... even then, the club will have a figure in mind for transfer versus keeping him for the final 12 months ... <cheers>

Not really Flos. There are players who are looking to make the step up to bigger clubs. And when a club like yours that need to sell to generate income, then that ups the ante in terms of that shop window availability. Obviously you don't want to sell your best players, but it's not just down to your club to set the terms, that comes down to the selling club, the buying club, the player themselves and the current contract situation.

As for Maddison and Barnes, there's no way you're getting £85m each for them, that's just pie in the sky figures. But if somebody came in with a £35-40m+ offer for either of them, then I think Lesta would listen.

Tielemans is a player who reportedly wants out and has no intention of signing another contract with you. Clubs will posture and say they'll hang onto a player for the final 12 months, but the reality is that the writing is on the wall and they would rather cash in rather than lose him on a free.

8th is now bottom half <doh> <laugh>

'Imagination land' has brought us a title, the FA Cup and 3 top 6 finishes in the last 6 years ...

I've no idea where we will finish this season tbf ... but I don't see any reason why we can't improve on last season ... injuries and suspensions allowing.

Yes really Ponks ... even those that would rather not be, like Frankie de Jong ...

Here's the thing ... we would only have to sell if we really wanted to bring other players in ... we've reportedly received offers for Soumare, Praet and Verstergaard... none of whom were first team regulars ... yet they haven't gone anywhere ...

Tielemans has 'reportedly' wants out since the end of last season .. yet where is he?

Brenda said he was sitting down with Youri late last week to discuss his future ... Youri is then captain against Derby ... who knows, might just be for old times sake ... but you wouldn't know that from his demeanour... if he was desperate to leave we'd probably let him and take £25 million ... the reality is that he is not ... and so, we haven't...

I'm afraid your Arsenal reality is having to buy a much bigger club's bench warmer as your main striker... whilst watching your nearest rivals, with their CL spot, strengthen markedly ... unfortunately that's the football pond mate ... the goons are still a soft bellied gudgeon <laugh>

There’s no way we are still in for Frenkie if he’s told us that he doesn’t want to come to United.

There’s a €17m bill that Barca need to pay Frenkie and due to La Liga salary cap rules they simply can’t pay it no matter how much money they have, so they’re trying to get United to foot the bill. Something will give on either end eventually but I think at this point it’s unlikely the deal gets done unless another club comes forward for him and they’re willing to pay the 17m.

They can’t register Lewandowski or Raphina or Kounde until they free up more wages. So something needs to happen soon.

Actually saying we've had no offers that have met our valuations ... and as we have done ever since losing Kante to a release clause, we therefore sell our players as and when we want and only for a price that meets our (inflated) valuation ... poor old Ponky's 'reportedly' sobs change nowt ... <cheers>

Saints signing some 19 year old French striker nobody has ever heard of but is definitely the new Henry

Also keep bidding for Rory Delaps son from Man City despite them saying he’s not for sale
