As I've said elsewhere, mate, Ashley left a mess and we've been doing what's necessary. Isak was the first real big step forward. But other clubs are spending too, so if the desire is CL football then they need to either a) do better, or b) stop over-promising. It's a hugely competitive league - is Bruno going to ignore Madrid again next Summer when we finish 10th? We'll end up in a cycle of havng huge gaps to fill as well as needing to build and keep up.

It's good, it's much better than Ashley, it's just not good enough for their well publicised aspirations.

The owners promised that it was going to be a long process, they said that outright from day one.

In one year (or just under is it?) They've done so much.

Theres gaps to fill, but they will be filled.

On the players alone we are talking about 250m ffs

No what we heard was 60 to 100 and its ended up slightly over budget as I of course went with 80 to 110.

Others and I include yourself said over 140 million and were wrong... Correct?

No I was using the evidence and congratulations on taking issue with me defending myself under criticism not the other way around.

No issue with defending oneself, I'm just not convinced people were having a go at you! I I mean is there really any need for defense of a supposition on cash spent when no one here knows what's happening behind the scenes?

Maybe I'm just too laid back and don't care so much if I turn out to be completely wrong ( as is well evidenced by my performance in the prediction league <laugh>)

Door opening on a late move for Gallagher perhaps, as Chelsea are about to sign Zakaria. The rumours for a while have been that they were waiting on getting in a midfield signing first...
