I hate to burst the bubble of anyone thinking PSG just loaned a player but have no interest in signing him…..they did the same with Mbappe!!!

He was signed on loan initially as PSG wanted to make sure he was the real deal, they paid a large loan fee for this so I suspect they are doing something similar with Ekitike.

No they never, they had to do that as they'd already exceeded FFP by some distance and were forced into it by UEFA. They had just signed Neymar the same month.

PSG signed M'bappe the same month they signed Neymar for £199m and they did it with an obligation to buy at a set price of £166m. So they had no option but to buy him "real deal" or not. Why hasn't the same been done with this kid?

I have no idea mate, I can only presume they want to see if he can do the business at the top level before spunking £25m on him. It’s great business from PSG in my opinion. But the notion that they signed him for no reason only to send him home after 12 months is mental

I just see it as a totally pointless exercise. He is not getting a game ahead of Neymar, Messi, M'Bappe, Iccardi, Kalimuendo,

Not necessarily, they will see him up close in training, he’ll probably get 15-20 games in cups and weak league games, he’s u21 so they don’t need to use up a squad spot on him. They’ll know if he’s good enough after that. If he is they’ve signed a good young French player for peanuts. It’s a no lose situation for PSG.

Messi & Neymar will be out the gap next year so they’ll need replacing too.

can’t say I’ve read the 25 pages discussing all this, but would be silly to think psg only became interested recently. Most clubs scout players for a good year or two (plus would have been aware of him given plays in same league) before they look to make a move (Manchester United seem to be the exception here :bandit:)

maybe they planned to go for him in a year or two after few more seasons experience, but the fact you guys were interested pushed things along.

Liken it to us and Diaz. We were scouting him for a good few years and the plan was to sign him this summer as a replacement to mane, but spurs interest in Jan pushed things forward for us.

might explain why it’s only a loan for psg as well as it’s a year or two ahead of schedule so want to keep their options open on him.
So what you are saying is that they were interested but not that interested.

Way to add fuel to the fire you Liverpool WUM.

Spot on, but you're not going to penetrate them with reality.. I mean they've gone through the following stages

1. There's is no interest from other clubs anyone saying otherwise is an idiot.
2. The psg links are leaked bullshit from his agent and the idea psg are interested is ludicrous.
3. Psg were only interested since last week you can't prove otherwise.
4. Ah well they aren't that interested so that means they aren't interested.
5. Chaos is a **** because he just guessed

Either that, or they see Newcastle as a huge threat so are just going after players you’re interested in despite having done no background work on them, just to stop you guys from signing them <whistle>

We are not interested in him though. Apparently told him and his agent to **** off. Looks like PSG saw that and thought they could get him on the cheap. Rheims rejected that but let him go on loan. Presumably they were pissed off with him too as he had cost them a few million so didn’t want him there this season but wanted to benefit if he does well.

In other words you were right. They were interested but not that interested.

PSG had no interest in Ekitike and suggesting they did was ludicrous.

You've swallowed agent **** and anyone still suggesting other clubs are interested is a ****ing idiot.

Ekitike is a rubbish player because we've seen YouTube and the clubs have no clue.

Actually I forgot we moved on.... I got up saw people continued last night and this Morning.

Sorry.. Perhaps there's a lesson for us all there... Karma.

Now can you all get over Ekitike choosing his preferred club and move on please?
