Summer Transfer window

Peterborough signed a few players before the window properly opened. I wouldn’t describe those as statements either.
<doh> Subject to their level I’m sure they are. A statement for Leicester is going to be different to Man City and a statement for Leicester is going to be different to teams like Peterborough, Accrington Stanley and QPR. You seem surprised the transfer thread has a post about a transfer in it or are you just a pedantic individual by nature? Enjoy the wally with the brolly btw

No. Just saying that Leicester signing a full-back no one had heard of a week ago is not a “statement”. That language is reserved for ‘big’ or shocking signings.

Maybe you hadn’t heard of him but those who know the slightest bit about football outside this country will. Portuguese international, CL, chased by top clubs and rated in the top 10 in the world in his position. Basically could have gone higher than Leicester but knows Puel so yes it’s a coup for us. If you haven’t heard of him that speaks more about your football knowledge than it does him

You win, John. I look forward to him leading you to many years of glory after making the shrewd move to Leicester from a CL club and spurning the opportunity to play for larger clubs in more desirable places.

No need for sarcasm. Nobody ever knows how players will adapt but this seems to be a coup for Leicester so yes I’m pleased with it. You wanted a bite and you got it, well done

If he can’t get into the Portugal team ahead of Cedric then it means he is most likely pretty ****
They are both in the World Cup squad, think Periera is younger so just coming through. Think Periera also plays left back so may play there if Cedric is better than the left back options

Lyon and France attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir, 24, has been offered to Premier League clubs for £66m after his move to Liverpool broke down. (Sun)

Anyone fancy a 'Pool reject for £66m?

We are apparently spending another £40 million today ... partly on James Maddison from Norwich for around £22 million - Southampton also had a fee agreed but, once he'd stopped laughing, the lad popped up to Leicester for his medical ... announcement immient <cheers>

I see Hazard is practically begging Real Madrid to sign him this summer.

I wonder if this is it for Chelsea, has Abramovic got fed up with things? He's not leaving Conte or any other new manager in a great position with all of this uncertainty.

He's bang average John. If any of the other clubs you mentioned made a bid he would have gone. They didn't bid so this is his easy ticket to the PL.

Hardly a statement ffs!!!!

Yep much better to make a big deal about a potential signing then try and get him cheaper and let the deal fall through :emoticon-0136-giggl
I’m pleased with our business so far, an attacking RB to replace Simpson, Jonny Evans who despite a bad year was wanted by Man City last summer and a very experienced CB and the highly rated James Maddison next in. All we can ask for is for our manager and recruitment to bring in improvements in the right areas and they are doing that :emoticon-0148-yes: clearly that’s all on paper but all signings are until a ball is kicked in August

Maddison looked quality for Norwich, if he can bring his form to the Prem he'll be a really good signing for Leicester, we actually wanted him before he joined Norwich as he was highly rated at Coventry.

So much talent in the Championship nowadays. Sessegnon, Costa, Jota and Neves will all get the chance to prove if they can step up. The likes of Grealish, Watkins, Traore, Gibson, Reid and others can all likely play for decent Prem sides as well. Hoping we get Grealish as it goes, think his style would suit us, silky player who knows how to control a game, versatile as well as he can play CM or in any of the three roles behind the striker, think Poch could get a lot out of him.

The medical raised concerns so I'm glad we didn't spend 60mil ffs!!

Mate we've done the best business so far imo. Keita and Fabinho both joining on July 1st.

They're both top draw players mate.

I think you are a bit behind the times ... other clubs did enquire about Pereira, including Arsenal at one stage - but we are no longer paupers and our owners are prepared to pay the going rate and transfer fees necessary to bring quality players in ... and in this mercenary football world of today, that counts as much on occasion as which club they choose to go to.

You may kid yourself that players choose Liverpool because of the name and history ... but that's mostly bollocks ... players with trophiy winning ambition in mind would turn Liverpool down in favour of Manchester or London if that were the case.... it's mainly the money honey <laugh>

We may be relative 'new kids on the block' but we are now the 19th most valuable brand in world football ... that's a meteoric rise by any stretch of the imagination and the players we are now attracting reflect that.
Like John I'm very happy with the transfer busines we have done so far - we seem to be addressing those areas where we have been crying out for more quality in.

Wolves are setting up play in the 2022 World Cup as Portugal

Enquiring and bidding are totally different ffs <doh>
Enquiring could simply be a club asking another club about potential outgoing players especially to drive the price up.

Didn't even read the rest.
