Good point Wick lad. I have been pissed off since coming out if meetings and having a few conversations about the ins and outs.

But , you're correct. Club first. Always. Just wish there were better decisions getting made.

We are all looking for reasons behind it, but you hear things. I know you don't have a lot of time/high opinion of speakman.

Does AN come out of this blameless?

I don't know mate. I hope it was, because we might offer better terms to the right candidate and better quality candidates might apply. Seems strange though, if reports are true, that Neil is accepting a longer contract at Stoke, if he prefers the rolling contract.

Is that cause he is back close to his family?

Depends on your camp.

For me he does. Deal should have been sorted. It wasn't. Could be say no to stoke and get deal sorted in retrospect? Aye. But he isn't that type of manager or person is he ?

Sadly I’m just the same. I honestly can’t remember feeling worse as a manager goes. Even big Sam. Whether that’s because he stepped up and Neil has jumped down or what. Literally feeling like I don’t want to go tomorrow. I will go, but I think the atmosphere, if we don’t start well, will be dreadful
I agree… Can’t just stop thinking it’s Stoke City FFS. Stoke City <doh>

But was the deal not sorted because he was asking for things that we were never going to give him (more control over transfers, more money on transfers, breaking away from the current model of recruiting or playing?) Or was it down to money and length of contract? Or did we just leave it too long, planning to sort it after the window?

It has bothered me that we haven't gotten Stewart signed to a new deal all window, for me this can be happening at the same time as trying to sort transfers and should have been done as soon as players got back. I wasn't worried the same way about AN as I didn't see him going but should have been sorted the same as above.

It's knocked my end in Marcus, I am dreading tomorrow, I'll be there but not looking forward to it. Hopefully someone in place before the Rotherham game.

It may be that mate. He had a 3 year contract at Preston, which is also close to his family. This then opens up the question: If he only ever wanted a rolling contract here, did we (the club) know that when the right club came along, he'd be off? Did he ever have long term ambitions with our club, or were we only ever really a stop gap?

This whole saga provides more questions than answers.

The more you read into it…. I know most before I say anything, but his family still living in Preston, depending on who you believe journo wise apparently he had a release clause in his contract, the club even said today they contractually obliged to let him speak to other clubs, the quick turn over from when O’Niel was sacked to Neil travelling down there, for me, taking all that into account something stinks here and not from the club
