I agree a Grant Leadbitter springs to mind.

A Paul Bracewell type for me, still enough legs in him to control games at this level

When we signed Bracewell under Smith....this side reminds me of, young side that needs to top draw quality in middle of park to drive us on, sliw things down when needed. Get that player & couple other decent additions dont see why this side cant push playoffs, dont wr cpuld fizzle out to lower mid table

Here’s some options which seem to fit the type of players we’re after and therefore could at least be being considered for incoming loan deals… taken from The Athletic who suggest the following will be looked to be loaned out to Championship clubs before the window closes. Seems there’ loads and likely to be lots of movement before the end of the month..

Manchester United’s James Garner and Keinan Davis at Villa - Both were at Forest last season and can’t return.

Wolves’ Morgan Gibbs-White was named player of the season at play-off semi-finalists Sheffield United last season.

Folarin Balogun 21 year old forward at Arsenal.

At Villa there’s

Centre forward, Cameron Archer

Aaron Ramsey, (brother of Jacob) Tim Iroegbunam, Kaine Kesler Hayden and centre back Kortney Hause who could all make loan exits.

20 year old Centre-back James Hill at Bournemouth.

19 year old full back Fin Stevens at Brentford and their forward Nathan Young-Coombes.

18 year old Charlie Webster at Chelsea, Centre Midfielder - but only one year left on his contract - likely to be extended before he’s allowed out on loan.

Everton’s left-back Niels Nkounkou, 21, who was loaned to Standard Liege last season and likely to be let out again.

At Fulham; midfielder Tyrese Francois, 22 and Adrion Pajaziti, 19 are ‘technical midfielders’. American wing-back Marlon Fossey, 23, caught the eye at Bolton on loan last season and will have second-tier interest this summer. 21 year old Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz could be an interesting one with apparently a lot of potential… Jay Stansfield, 19 could also be a consideration.

Lewis Bate centre midfielder at Leeds could also be allowed to leave.

Captain of England Under-18s Sammy Braybrooke, the playmaker is known aa “Leicester’s Modric” within the England camp.

Nicknamed “Philipp Lahm” by Jurgen Klopp, Leighton Clarkson is a young creative midfielder said to have “laser vision” and an excellent range of passes in his locker whilst likely to be loaned out.

19 year old midfielder James McAtee at Man City could be out of our reach as there seems to be loads after him.. but then we did look after Calum Doyle for them….

Former young player of the year midfielder Shola Shoretire at Man Utd could be an option, as could 19 year old central playmaker Hannibal Mejbri as previously mentioned in this thread.

Not sure Jay Turner-Cooke up the road would be an option, given previous, but he’s likely to be loaned out.

Attacking midfielder and 21-year-old Frenchman Ateef Konate at Forest could be let go as they seem to have hit overdrive on their recruitment…Swedish forward Julian Larsson, who is also 21 could be another. Dale Taylor at 18 and already a Northern Ireland international could also be loaned out to help his development.

At Spurs… Alfie Devine is a 17-year-old creative midfielder set to be loaned out.. Jamie Donley is a few months younger than Devine and is similarly highly rated within his age group. Harvey White is slightly older at 20, but is a set-piece specialist who already has a good stint at Portsmouth behind him and will surely make the next step up.

Then there is Kion Etete, a tall centre-forward who scored goals in League Two and League One last season and is primed to do it again.

Divin Mubama at West Ham is a striker and has been capped at England Under-18 level whilst defender Yerson Mosquera at Wolves is in need of regular games and will almost certainly be offered to clubs on loan while midfielder Luke Cundle is a slight possibility of also being loaned out for experience.

Good post mate.

Lewis Bate is a good shout, a mate I bumped into at Wembley mentioned him.

I wasn't really listening, other things on my mind, but he said he'd fit it with us.

I think your living in hope mate...that was if not ankle ligaments, a break in a bone. He will not be back for months.

I agree. Said at the time the challenge was a shocker, just because his studs weren’t right up it was overlooked - the ref didn’t even give a free kick for it did he? If his studs were planted I doubt he’ll be back this season.

I wasn't really listening, other things on my mind, but he said he'd fit it with us.
Hes on loan at oxford now. Some cracking names mentioned but a few are already out on loan.

Charlie Webster is a player i really like, so good on the ball and works so hard for the team

You obviously watch a lot more football than me mate, as I had to google a couple of those.

I think 3 games has given us an idea of how we want to play this year and who the likely starters are. The one thing that I'm really happy about is that I think as a first 11 we can be competitive. I'd stretch that to maybe 15 players, but beyond that we start to look threadbare.

I think we could still do with adding some experience to the squad as well as youth. Obviously, fitting in with the model, those over 24 will most likely be free or nominal fees.

I think the Ballard injury makes a CB who can play on the right of a 3, the top priority. The suggestion that he may be out for months is worrying. Michael Hector might be a good option for this role. He's had worryingly little game time in the last couple of years, but he's strong, quick and versatile and has bags of experience at this level. Plus he's available on a free.

A midfielder is sort of joint top in the priority list. AN has shown that he doesn't really trust any of our other midfielders beyond Evans and Neil at this level. Winchester needs to move on, Matete could do with regular football at League One level on loan, Embleton isn't disciplined enough for a CM role and O'Nein isn't effective enough to be a regular starter. James McCarthy is an excellent choice for this position in my opinion. Yes, injuries are a concern, but his ability is unquestionable. His experience is predominantly at a Premier League level and a player of his talent wouldn't ordinarily be available to us. He'd be a brilliant rotation option with Evans and Neil.

A 3rd striker option is a must but it's a tricky position to fill. I can't imagine a Premier League club wants to loan us a future star if they're not going to play games. We also don't want to spend a big fee on someone to warm the bench. That's sort of why the Moreno loan rumour from City makes sense in my opinion (though I've never really seen him play and his record looks poor). Lys Mousset makes sense for the same reason. A fit Matej Vydra would have been the perfect option. I'm struggling to find the right and realistic kind of choice for this position though.

After that, it's more about depth, though if the option to sign Daniel Iversen comes up, I'd still pay decent money for a new number 1. In addition to those I've already mentioned, another CB and CM are also needed. These would maybe be loans to fight for places (Van Hecke and Gomes?).

Your suggestion of a right back is interesting. I've not seen enough of Sterling but it sounds like he can play wing back and has done well at this level before. I think AN is quite happy with Gooch and I'd really like to see Hume break through this season (plus we still have Huggins) so I'm not sure this is an area we'll target, but I wouldn't be against it.

Unless its going to be a long absence i dont think it will be too big a problem with Wright and o9 we have plenty of cover.

Canny list that but not sure how long ago it was. That Young Coombes scored a couple for AFC Wimbledon yesterday.

Would love James Garner but he was on bench yesterday and I think there’d be hell on if they loaned him out without incomings.

Garner will probably go somewhere on loan on 30th/31st august.

Had a sniff of respect for him not now. Idiot. A true, sniffer of doom to carry on his pretent insight into the financials of safc.
What's he been saying now? He blockede on twitter when I questioned him as to why he always so negative towards safc
